Poor man's intake
the sound is very subtle. You can hear a slight air suction sound during accel. from a stop but the sound difference that I noticed is when I roll at around 20mph and gas up to 3krpm i hear a similar intake suction sound from a previous AEM CAI I've owned. Nothing too crazy but content with it since I've paid nothing and didn't have to dismember anything 
It the same concept as what TSHEPP has done except the hole is a lot smaller therefore the sound is probably less noticeable. But resonators are gone and their purpose to was contain the intake sound so I'm sure there definitely is a sound increase and not my imagination.
Edit: and yeah the twist off bracket L tube that is attached to the airbox.

Just removed mine. Not much difference. Must make some difference. A little raspier at idle. Little more noise past 3000rpm
Virtually no sound at all. Get a set of r2c. Just got mine last week. sounds amazing.
Look for used ones in the classified here, from a local wrecker, or on ebay.
