Car died on the highway. Need help from Techs
was cruising on the highway at about 50-60.
then when im about to get off the exit the slip and vdc light come on as i slow down all lights go on. soon as i pulled over and came to a complete stop, car stalled.
tried starting it, all it did was crank really fast but would not start.
checked all the fluids all mechanical everything is fine.
read ecu codes and came up with
exhaust valve control solenoid circuit control bank 1+2
cmp
camshaft position sensor
a circuit bank 2
so i had infiniti roadside come get it. that was actually the best infiniti experience ive ever had with anything from infiniti. called them took my info gave location tow truck came in 10 mins everything was covered..so far.
so just went to the dealer this morning, and the service manager was the only one available
can i help u, i told him who i was.
and hes like what happened so i told him.
he said something in the engine broke, either the camshaft or timing.
so he just had me sign the paperwork and on it i saw had written down has intake and exhaust and grounding wires. once they lift the car they will find the cats and the pulley.
and it said that camshaft or timing will not spin.
i had the camshaft position sensors replaced 4 or 5 times already. they kept going bad. or i kept breaking it but i dont know how.
so he said they are just waiting on the techs to get back to them to see what to do.
so my guess is the timing belt went.
i know the first thing they come up with is HI ITS NOT WARRANTIED.
from what i know the pulley cranks the serpentine belt so nothing that i did to the car would affect the timing belt.
any help and suggestions from anyone.
thanks in advance

Well our cars V6 has Timing Chains! Not Timing Belts! so maybe it's a Cam sensor or something? That Sucks Bro! hope it did not damage your Motor! Good Luck! and keep us updated as to what failed!

wow thats ****ty..i know the feeling..kinda..not blown yet but blown piston ring it beating the **** out of my block..im going witha g37 swap next yr..hopefully
As much as I know Subie was on the Cobb tune lately...
I wonder what could be causing this damage to our engines? could it really be the ECU tune, like changing the rev limiter or timing?

Oh man... that really sucks
It's really strange how you went through so many timing sensors.
There is no way that many sensors could be bad.
My guess is that they are related to this ultimate problem.

I think this problem existed way before the tune.
wtf.... i had my G s/c and that shop blew a ring in my motor so i then sent my **** to forged and had them swap a used motor in with only 15k miles on it... didnt even make it 300 miles b4 it broke a rod and had this camshaft position code... and yes i was 100% stock then and had Forged swap the motor so i know it was done right.....
so anyways, after that motor blew i bought another motor and had Forged replace it again, well everything has been good for the last month and half(2000 miles) and then last night my car died and i now have camshaft position code again... wtf... needless to say i called sharif and waiting for a call back from him.....
already lost $10k cash in replacing motors in this pos, and why isnt this a TSB yet...
