MPG with Stillen Intake
MPG with Stillen Intake
Okay, those of you who installed Stillen intakes, do you notice any significant drops in MPG? Thinking you getting one just for the sound alone. One MPG is not a big deal but 5 may be
I don't think it would have much of an effect on the MPG... other than the drop off you'd get from nailing the throttle to hear the car roar!
I've had intakes on previous cars and did not notice a drop off in MPG under "normal" driving conditions.

Thanks guys. The intake sound is awesome. It'll be the next mod after I install the Clear Bra.
Had a old Integra GSR that I put a K&N filter in and I did notice a slight MPG drop. Never did get any decent intake noise though.

In theory, the intake makes the engine more efficient and thus should improve mileage (if driven the same way as "pre-install"). The same can be said for exhaust mods.
The "rub" in the whole equation is that the car gets driven harder after the mods and mileage decreases.
Having owned a few modded Mustangs and Cobras, with equal driving styles the mileage was always a little better post-mod.

Mileage vs Stillen Intake.........?
Your mileage will take a slight dip because you'll be listening to the sweet
sounds coming from the intake and your right foot will react accordingly.
This also happens when you put on an aftermarket exhaust, same thing!
Don't think you can control this reaction, it's between you subconscious
and your right foot......HAHA!
