Just a quick update ... no ... nothing blew up ... the car still runs fine.

Picked up a minor "clunk" from where one of the I/C pipes come close to the frame, but too lazy and not bad enough to warrant the trip to GTM. I was told they'd fix it the next time I go in.

In general, the car still runs strong when needed and still drives very well as a daily driver in rush hour traffic. All systems working fine, no CELs and gages all reading normal.

To be honest, I still haven't had a need to turn up the EBC so perhaps I am not pushing it as hard as some of you might want to see.

Did my second oil change and all looks fine (UOA report follows). I did learn that when refilling the oil, I should refill to just over the LOW mark. The oil level will "magically" be at the 1/2 way mark when I check again in the AM.

thanks for these updates. should make future F/I owners feel comfortable knowing it's a reliable kit.

Terry, do you have any information about your shift kit? I'm looking to get it done for my car but wasn't sure where to start looking and I wanted to get an idea of what to look for in price.

The shift kit itself is made by Transgo. GTM did the installation and work on the valvebody.

You're probably looking at around $1K installed. Be sure to use a shop that is familiar with this transmission. That valvebody is expensive to replace.

I should also add that I'm getting about 18 mpg combined right now calculated the old fashioned way. The fuel economy screen does not work right for me since I have bigger injectors.

I do about 75% hwy and 25% street, but the hwy miles are during Southern California rush hour traffic on the 91. Yes, I use the A/C as well.

Thanks for the info, Terry. I'm going to go for the valve body upgrade and tranny cooler. I just wish GTM wasn't on the other side of the country. NY is seriously lacking in reliable performance shops for our cars.

if you knew how to take out the valve body, some shops will let you ship it to them, then they'll do it, and ship it back... My buddy does the upgrade for like 650 bucks i think.
