Nissan Power Pup Bullydog - First Impressions
To be honest, I think I'd rather purchase an Uprev or Cobb product.
I don't see any point to tune a stock OEM vehicle. You cannot tune better than how the car comes from factory.
Now when you start doing a few mods is when you should look into getting a tune.

The latest SW successfully allowed me to set Stock Tune, advance the timing 2 degrees, and adjust redline. Since the redline adjustment was fixed, I'm assuming the speed limiter removal was too, but haven't tested it. I can't tell re performance - it felt quick before, and feels quick now. It's pretty much impossible to "feel" a <10HP change, which you'd assume is the result here.
Thanks

Ok, I've read about 75% of the past posts and did my fair share of research prior to making my decision to purchase the PD pup.
The install took only about 15 mins. I did the premium tune along with 7900 shift change, 2* advance in timing, 150mph limit.
The car does feel a little more responsive. Faster, I'm not sure. In my eyes it did wake it up, and make it feel more impressive.
I have yet to go to the track, waiting until it cools down a little. Even if it didn't make it faster, the way it feels is much better, and to be able to remove the top end limiter is worth it.

NOT TRUE, manufacters run all cars rich to protect the engine. Simply tuning the ecu to change the AFR can add significant power.
I would agree with that statement for most Detroit iron, but not with the VQ35. I DARE you to get more than 10hp with just a tune on a stock VQ (and keep the A/F ratio SAFE)
Read the whole thread (I know it's a lot) and all you will find is disagreement. Disagreement in the dyno results and disagreement in whether or not there is benefit from this tune.
I continue to remain happy with mine and the better fuel economy it has provided as well.
Yes, but I still question the results

Yeah, I don't know anything about the first gens.
I know that if you're going into this for performance gains alone, look elsewhere... they're minimal.
I know I felt immediate results but they are minimal and I haven't had mine tested. The tests I have seen on the 2nd gens have all been inconclusive. I'll be dyno'ing mine this coming summer and when I do, I'll go as is and then remove the tune and compare the results.
I also have other mods and I don't know if that has had an effect. I say that if you want huge HP gains, look elsewhere. There's now better options for the same money that weren't available when I bought mine.
With that being said, it's not what I would call a waste of money either.

I went through 65 pages and the best results is on pg 60. Is that for real on a 2nd Gen. It only adds 3HP? REALLY??!!?? I could be wrong since i only got 3 hours of sleep because i am studying for finals this week. So far all the reading i did all people can really say on a improvement is 1-2 mpg on there G. The only best result was the 05 G coupe that got at least 13HP. It almost seems kind of worthless if this don't add power for the 2nd Gens.
Look elsewhere for the 2nd gen sedans... Hypertech now has one out but i think its safe to say unless you get a custom tune done by Cobb or something the canned tunes just dont do it for our cars.
