I actually saw the first install of this going in on a yellow 370Z at Sam's shop (GTM) back in June when Sam did my Osiris tune. The install was almost completed and Sam expected to be done with it by the end of June or early July, of course, if you know Sam, this means more like September or October... LOL... That said, the 370Z install should easily be done. Sam said it would be no problem to do this install on an HR V36 sedan and gave me an ballpark cost of $7K including the tune. I plan to get this done sometime this year... just need to figure out a time when I don't need my car for 3 months.

FYI... For those that are calling this a centrifugal SC... It's actually a Rotrex type unit, swhich is a centrifugal unit by definition, but it uses a completely different (and patented) type of drive system than any other centrifugal unit on the market today. HKS even tried to copy this unit and Rotrex took them to court for trying to steal their design and HKS had to cease production of their Super Chargers... Sam at GTM uses a true Rotrex unit in his kits. You can find more info on the Rotrex design here: http://www.rotrex.com/web2005/pdfs/R...ly_version.pdf.

Ok two questions:

1- Why would they need your car for 3 months if Sam said it wouldn't be a problem to install this on the HR V36?

2- You have to tell me/us if and when you might be getting this because I'm interested , just not too keen on 3 months without a car (the tuner here will probably give me the car back after a week or two knowing how they work, which wouldn't keep my mind at ease)

$7k installed and tuned? this is pretty cheap for the gains actually.

the Stage 1 TT kit is $8K, no install or tune.

full bolt ons (intake/catback/hfc/headers) + tune is about ~$3K. Add to that the price of aftermarket wheels and other little tid bits and you got yourself a SC kit.

This is really tempting lol. Any idea how much a turn key kit costs without install or tune? I may just save up and DIY

I may have missed it, but does anyone know if this kit also require that the reinforcing bars on the bumper be removed, and the ICC sensor relocated?

From: Waltham Ma,
The one thing I'm really looking for is will the X models handle this. I have a X and the last thing I want is to blow the T case out of the car.. LOL OOPPPSS.

I talked to GTM, they told me the price range MIGHT be between $5500 to $6500, that's for now of course, i did some reading about their rotrex supercharger on their website, so here's the information from there (it's a copy/paste):

C38 3Lt to 6Lt Engine Capacity
300hp to 630hp Engine Output*
90,000 rpm Maximum Impeller Speed
1 : 7.5 Gear Ratio

C30 1Lt to 4.5Lt Engine Capacity
100hp to 400hp Engine Output*
120,000 rpm Maximum Impeller Speed
1 : 9.49 Gear Ratio

C15 Up to 2Lt Engine Capacity
Less than 50hp to 200hp Engine Output*
201,500 rpm Maximum Impeller Speed
1 : 12.67 Gear Ratio

In addition to our standard product offer, we develop custom solutions for particular applications.

*power output is a general guideline, achieved power is application dependent.

I THINK GTM well be using C30 unit, which mean's power gains should be great, if we get 200rwhp out of it, it'll be a heavenly kit, and i'm definitly gonna get one after i study my budget.

S/C are cheaper because you only get 1 unit vs 2 units for TT, and it's much easier to install and tune than the TT or ST kits, beside i think it's safest and more reliable than a turbo kit.

S/C are slightly better on pocket and can be used on a DD as opposed to TT....I have seen people wearing their engines with TT very easily and on top of that car is just a weekend driver.

Any news on turn on kit?

Any news on turn on kit?

They'll put their S/C kit for sale in March or April, too early to jump to conclusion, we still don't know what size injecters they'll supply or if the kit needs a fuel pump or fuel system or anything else.

2 to 3 months turnaround is pretty standard for GTM. They may quote you less time, but everyone I know that's gotten a TT kit from them has had to wait a lot longer than originally thought. If you've ever been to their shop, they usually have 20 - 30 cars in there at any one time and Sam only has 3 or 4 guys working for him, so you can imagine how backed-up they can get. They do great work, but certainly aren't quick.

I understand they are planning to use an air / air intercooler. If that is the case, the impact beam will need to be removed and the ICC (if you have it) will need to be relocated.

Thanks, Terry. I was afraid that would be the case I can deal with the ICC relocation, but the beam is disconcerting.
