Talking My Dyno Results With COBB!

Aiight Guy's! here's my results for my Dyno Tune Today! The guy i went to is a Local Tuner, very smart, cracked and worked on codes for the new GTR, and he's a Turbo Specialist!

My Car is an 07 G35 Sedan with just Injen CAI, FI HFC's, and Stillen Cat-back. Now I know everyone wants a Basline Numbers, after each Mod Etc. But times are Hard for everyone, and I just did not have the time or Money to do a Dyno after everymod I did! So since a couple people on here did some DYno's with the Stock G35's. Everyone should know a Stock G35 VQ HR Motor car, with Auto or 6MT, has run Numbers of about 250-265HP to the Wheels! So Just use that as my Base, and wit my Mods, and my Guy's Smarts. I got a final Number of exactly 280HP to the Wheels!

Not sure what that equals to?? But I see on the G37 Forums, the Coupes Motor with the VQ37 HR Motor, are getting anywhere from 270-285 At the Wheels, with an Intake or Exhaust alone. SO I'm hoping maybe I am now making close to 330HP, with the Motor, not at the wheels!

So here's a Pic. of my Dyno!(These Runs were all made in 4th gear! Weather was Clear, in lower 80's, with Low Humidity.)

Sorry no Torque Numbers for some reason they did not come out. I'll try ask to see if he has a diffrent sheet with those #'s! Also the 276 Baseline HP, Is I had Flashed my ECU with the Cobb AP, and Used thier "STOCK STYLE MAP" This was the best map to use out of the other 2 maps that Cobb has. Made the car run super Rich, and just drove crappy! Even thought the "STOCK STYLE" map is not made for Mods, it had the best Air/Fuel Ratio! so that's why u see a 4HP gain. Goes to show how good the Cobb "Stock Style" map is. He just needed to tweak my A/F ratios some, and heard them mention Timing? but not too sure! I gotta contact him again to make sure what he tweaked! Well thnx for Looking!

Ok went to my Frnds shop that specializes in Mustangs, or anthing with a Turbo or SC! from mild to wild! and is a good frnd of mine, so decided to try my G on his Dyno! and get more Info, since the FIrst tuner I went to, did not give a full printout, and he only had a sheet for my HP numbers! so now I have all the graphs for this dyno run!

This run was done on a diffrent day. and I know it's a diffrent day, and diffrent HP Numbers. But with that said...

The weather for this run was kinda crappy! was really overcast, not real cool, and was really Smoggy! looked like LA here! LOL. it's from the Volacano, certain wind direction blows the crap all over the Islands!

but first run was done in 4th gear, with about a 30min cooldown. 2nd run was in 5th gear, after about a 15min cooldown. only did 2 runs, since no tuning was Involved. it's not a whole lot off my first Dyno Tune of 280WHP. But at least I know what my A/F ratios are and TQ Numbers!

Forgot to metion, I reached 150MPH in the 5th gear run! AWESOME!

Cool and congrats, weird that the TQ figures didn't come out cause I'd like to know what they were. Hopefully I'll be doing a dyno run on Wednesday, but no tune yet

nice numbers. few questions for you.
so you had 276 with the mods and the cobb stock map correct? not the stage 1, 2.
and after your cobb tune you went up to 280?
is that the protune that you got?
how many pulls did your tuner do while he was tuning your car?

i want to compare these to my cobb protune.
thanks.

Hey Suby! Yea I had Cobbs Stock Style Map flashed before dyno runs! Not 1or 2. those maps made my car run super rich and was just crappy! The Stock style map had the best A/F ratios! But I gotta check wit my tuner to make sure that 276 number was with da mods and my reflash combined!

And he did like 10 or 11 runs to get the A/F ratios in the optimum range. The car runs so much stronger now!! I turned off VDC, nailed it frm a stop and my 20 inch 275 tires had a hard time with traction! It never did it that bad before! So my car definately runs harder and stronger than before!

yes he did use the pro tune software

You are contradicting yourself. The stock map was rich and crappy but had the best AF ratios? Huh?

Stage 1 and 2 maps are the pig rich maps not the stock style.

HAHA< yea I sound confusing. But COBB's off the SHelf maps, are like this, Thier own adjusments in thier VErsion of the OEM Map, which has changes in it, from your OEM Factory tune, then there's Stage1, Stage2, which are all just basic tunes with the supposed mod u have, and those MAPS all run super Rich! only the COBB's Stock Style OEM Map, has better A/F ratios for some reason, than the other 2 stages of Modded Maps. And a guy on G37.com, with a Coupe, had the Stage2 map, ran it on the dyno, made crappy numbers, so they downloaded the Cobb version of the OEM map, Which is named "Stock Map", and they gained almost 16HP, with just this change alone. SO I just went off this info from them and used the "Stock Cobb Map" on my car before I got it dyno tuned. and Supposedly my basline run was 276WHP, and then he only got 4 more WHP to 280.?? either he did not put down my real first run numbers, or that Cobb Stock Map is actually really good starting point! Go figure? my Tuner never did get back to me on the numbers.
