Its on it's way. Axle back. I've been told it will fit the x just fine.
The tanabe sound bytes are amazing! Sound like the coupe, but louder. Just what I want.

If it doesn't work out, I'll givethe stillen a shot. Glad to hear the drone is not too bad. That's what turned me away.

If you are going only axle back than it won't be a problem for you. Yea i don't know when people say the drone is really bad its honestly not bad at all. The axle back won't get in the way of the transfer case because the case is located at the front of the car. if you were doing a Cat-back exhaust some pipes don't take into affect of the transfer case right near the cat. The Stillen works. I also went with the stillen cause it sounds the best a little more aggresive than a coupe but not to aggresive and its only when i go WOT along with the best HP gains.

But aftermarket companies spec their exhausts mostly on the RWD drivetrain. As has been previously stated, the X transfer case gets in the way of the front passenger side piping. As far as I know, only Stillen and Fast Intentions (what I chose) have designed their systems to fit as is.Originally Posted by bsowhat1
It will fit fine. The mufflers (actually the whole OEM exhaust) is identical between the RWD and AWD models.

Oh that's what I was saying haha. The stillen nd FI fit both rwd and awd models, but invidia, tanabe and greddy fit for rwd models, some modification is required for it to fit awd

If aftermarket companies would prototype the AWD car, then their exhaust would fit BOTH awd and rwd. No need for 2 systems. OEM is the same - one system fits both. Stillen did this. FI changed one pipe to fit AWD although technically they could just sell all their systems with the AWD pipe and it would fit RWD as well.Originally Posted by efuseakay

Tanabe bases their system on the 1st gen Y-pipe which only fits RWD cars. It is not even close to fitting AWD. Greddy is a Y-pipe back system so you would need a separate aftermarket Y pipe for a full catback.Originally Posted by Zomorg3

Just to give an update, Amazon might not be the best place to order from. Ordered on thursday 03/17 and it still has not been shipped.

They have two different exhausts. Go look at their new gen, it fits second gen, the pipes from the cat get in the way of the transfer case but they all have x-pipes for their new systems. Idk who uses the Y pipe anymore mayb the coupe?Originally Posted by bsowhat1

Got it installed. Fits the x no problem. Sound just like the coupe. Maybe slightly louder. Can't really hear it in the car. Outside it sounds awesome.
If u are comfortable putting a car on jackstands, then u can do it yourself no problem.

Those are essentially replacement mufflers with a little bit of piping right?
I've been looking at those, but they seem to be in the $600 range. I'd rather drop a couple hundred more and grab an Invidia and modifiy the one pipe to make it fit the X.

Yea pretty much. Its a replacement muffler. The whole stillen setup is def worth is with the xpipe and resonators. Im not gonna hate on the others depends on wat sound you want. The stillen is more aggressive sounding than the coupe but not like a ricer, it's sounds like an aggressive 370z. Deft think it's worth it . Stillen is running a sale right now too btw.
