Not every service manual is there. I downloaded a full 370Z FSM to help as well since the 370Z has all the pages available.

I said screw it and paid the $10 to get membership and unlimited downloads.

Anyone want a manual how about a little donation and maybe i can find it for ya. lol.

Thanks so much for the link! I feel MUCH better now. Comming from a car I owned and modded for 10 years to this high tech machine had me feeling a little uneasy!

Thanks for those pdf files.

The maintenance said Never reuse gaskets. Does anybody know the size of engine oil plug, AT drain plug, and filler plug gaskets?

Engine Oil is a 14mm, AT Drain Plug is pretty big (+19mm, possibly 21mm) but I cant remember off the top of my head.

And if you will be doing a drain and fill, I opened a thread saying it's 4.75qts that drains from the pan so make sure you buy 5 qts. I bought 4 because everyone was saying its 3.5-4qts when 4.75qts came out.

Thanks. Were you able to open those plugs without using any electric tools or air gun?

Just wanted to update for anyone thinking of doing this in the future....

If you have ANY kind of experience working on a car, even changing your own engine oil.. this is SUPER easy.

The tranny pan drain bolt is very obvious.. just find the tranny, find the pan on the bottom ... find the only big bolt in it. (its the back on the pass side for mine)

I think its a 19 or 20 mm bolt, my 18 was too small. As much as I hated to use an adjustable wrench, it worked. (just make sure that sucker is super tight and stop if it feels like its slipping)... one good strong bump loosened it up and the rest was history...

drain, measure, refill (mine was 5 quarts).

I used the Mobil Sythetic.. 8 bucks a pop.

The fill tube is to the right of the battery box if your standing at the front bumper, just look down by the firewall a little and find a black ****. You have to unbolt the bracket to remove the dipstick. (10mm if I remember right, easy to get with a 6" extrension on a ratchet).. just dont drop it!

Enjoy!

Im feeling better now, next DIY is ground wires. and then springs

Tweak, I am going to do the AT fluid change but I always thought this is a drain plug like other cars. Now you told me there is a filler tube on the back on the battery. I looked in the battery compartment and saw a black rubber cap covers something behind the battery on the passenger side. Is that the cap of the filler tube you are talking about?
If it is possible, can you please post a picture of that filler tube here?
That is the only thing I am waiting for before go out to do my AT fluid change.

hey Phalanx,

its just the tranny fluid dipstick... not really behinde the battery as much as next to the battery compartment, behinde the engine.

There is a drain plug to let the fluid out, the dipstick is where ya put the new fluid back in.

I couldnt find it at first and googled "g35 how to check transmision fluid" and found picks that way. If you still cant find it I will try to get you a pic, lmk.
