This isn't always the case but this is probably why his dealership has been top ranked in CSI amongst Nissan dealerships in the East Coast for quite a number of years.
Where is the dealer? I find it's hard to believe that a dealer is willing to offer a 13K goodwill. I couldn't even get my windshield replaced on my Avalon under warranty when it started cracking by itself (the car was about 6 years old).

The Toyota dealer said "yeb, there's no hit on the windshield but the car is out of warranty."

Also, this is not something that they will just do for anyone. You have to have spent lots of money there already in service, it must be approved by the service director and dealership GM.

^ that's a little bit too far from Philly. I don't mind spending money with the dealer if I know that I can count on them many years after the warranty expired.

That's a damn shame. Mine has 127k on it, and thankfully no engine problems.

Infiniti should do more for your step father than throwing him to the curb like this. The offer from the dealership is also insulting.

sorry to say but you are out of luck...its hard enough to get dealers to cover repairs under warranty much less none..its hard to have confidence in infiniti anymore. good luck with getting rid of that "INFINITI" buy a ford or chevy or even a honda. I love my G35 but stories like these scares the crap out of me.

I'm hoping this is bot something that occurs alot? I mean out of all the infiniti 07-08 g35. This is the 4th or 5th one in this forum. Is this a nationwide problem or just a few defects in engine design?

definitely sucks, i don't have that kind of money, but i can only imagine what throwing away near 40,000$ feels like

and we're not attacking infiniti, it was a great car with minimal complaints, just should have lasted longer, plain and simple.
I'd raise hell with Corporate. If the mechanic/tech said there was an actual defect with that particular engine, it's on them.

Get your dealer to push back at Corporate in your favor too... if they value your business...
