I bit the bullet and went with FI because i had gone the route you did before on my previous car and ended up redoing it multiple times because i was not happy with the look or sound of the system.

My logic was pay more once to know im getting a quality product that is going to sound good, make proven power, hold up for the life of the car and would be easily removable in case my transmission or other drivetrain parts would ever need service, or i wanted to install the stock exhaust whenever it came time to sell the car. its a 40k dollar car and i wasnt about to cheap out on one of the most make or break mods on the car. all it takes is a bad exhaust job to make your infiniti into a civic with a fart can.

I did my install in my driveway with hand tools in a couple of hours and couldnt be happier!

Based on the pictures im hoping those will fit on the sedan in the provided space with the Tips welded on at an angle like that. if you can get the shop to install it at a fair price and make it fit you will most likely have yourself a pretty good deal.

It looks like they will have to cut off the tips and weld them back on straight. Not sure if you are asking them to make a flange to mate it to the stock piping or just hacking off the flange too and then welding it on the pipe. But to me, hacking the tips is very visible, as will be the cheap welding done. $175 for the custom work involved is certainly no rip off but I am not sure it is going to look how you want or even sound right. Don't think you can swap these in and think it'll sound just like the coupe does with them on.

From: Waltham Ma,
About the tips I do not think so as I am going from the Stock Y pipe back. I am going to try to have them route the pipes to match the muffler flange, They may have to move he hangers on the mufflers but well see.

I wanted to go with ARK but the $$$ to me was too steep+ they offer no system for the X yet. I reallt do not think there is a seceret to 2.5 in piping and a 2 resonators for a power upgrade.

I will not be cutting anything, Unbolting the factory system and having a flange for the stock y-pipe to bolt up and going back.

the stock exhaust (and more importantly the stock ypipe) is extremely restrictive, going from 2 inches in some places to barely more than 1 inch in others. the aftermarket systems are a full 2.5 inches (or 2.25) all the way through, and the resinators are also less restrictive. this simply allows for a more open exhaust flow, helping the exhaust scavange more from the engine on the exhaust stroke, making more power.

Its your car so you can do what you want but im telling you right now, if you delete the resinators (sounds like you are, based on last comment) you will immediately get more drone and an ungodly amount of Rasp.

From: Waltham Ma,
I will NOT be removing the resonators, Just replacing them with new one's . I do not want droan or it to be loud.. I am also using 2.25 piping from the stock Y pipe back. Any Idea what size resonators I should use 12-14 inch? What size are the stock ones?
