Oil pooled in throttle body

I decided to follow the DIY today on cleaning the throttle bodies because the idle has been a bit rough at stop lights since I bought the car.

I went to clean the passenger side TB first and when I pulled it off I noticed there was a tiny amount of oil pooled on the backside (connecting to the plenum). Maybe a teaspoon or less. The driver's side TB did not have this same occurrence.

Is it anything to worry about? Should I be taking it to a dealer and telling them what I saw so something can be fixed under warranty (car still has remaining factory warranty)?

Thank you all!

well i expect you would see a little bit of oil and residue but a teaspoon sounds like alot to me....although to be fair that could have been collecting since day 1 and you never knew it. i would take it apart again in 1k-2k miles to see if you have any accumulation. if you see it coming back quick then report it to infiniti right away.

I just did it at 40k and there was a touch of oil. I think this is pretty common in almost any car as the oil gets into through the PCV system. A lot of turbo guys use catch cans and the oil will settle there and stay out of the intake.

Exactly right!!! My 2000 Ford Lightning, ( as did all of em) would get much oil in intake, and behind throttle body, ended up running breathers on valve covers, like the old days lol... amoung other things to try and stop the pvc, system from pulling oil up......
