I'm not sure what you mean by "differential kick" (never driven an evo I guess). Does your car have Sport? (ie.does it have the limited slip diff)

Can you describe it a little more? Does it do it more when you are accelerating while turning, even slightly turning?

ya mine got the LSD diff. ... i never shift n accelrate when turning its always on the straight when im flooring it alomst.
so id be on either 1st or 2nd, going straight, high rev(before redlines), and when throwin it to the next gear, kinda tap the accelerator thru the shift, the diff gives this forceful kick like a nudge (doesnt feel like damage to me lol)
i freaked when it happened in my friend's EVO when and he laughed saying thats what an EVO MR does ,completely normal.. but i just had doubts a G would be any similar,,
ah anyway will let you guys knw the day the diff shatters to peices ... (god forbid :s )

I know exactly what you're talking about, and it's normal. It's just the transmission shifts, it's shifts faster and harder in direct relation to how fast you're accelerating. You'll find it'll kick and shift much harder, and firmer with a valve body upgrade. I'm sure Fab, or anyone else who has a TransGo VB upgrade can shed some of the technical aspects of it.

IF I understand you correctly, by the term " kicks", you are just describing a forward acceleration impulse that occurs when the transmission shifts to the next gear after being revved to near redline in the previous gear. If so, then YES, that would be totally normal (albeit not the healthiest long term driving practice for a stock automatic transmission).

If that sensation pleases you, I suggest you try it in a 6MT?
