Muffler Delete DIY

Ive been very interested in doing this little mod to my car since ive seen some awesome youtube videos and threads on here. I could not find a DIY so decided to make one myself.
Theres a total of 4 bolts that need to come off.

Things needed :
12mm Wrench
Socket extender
Flat head screwdriver
Floor Jack (gives you a little more wiggle room)

Lets get started
Get your tools.

Jack the Car if you need the extra room.

Will start from the front

This hinge holds the exhaust in place just unscrew the bolt.

Next you can go under the car and remove it that way I used socket extenders and went trough the side of the tire.

Now you might need some Nut Off or WD-40 if your bolts are rusted on there to remove these remaining two these are located on the back closest to the exhaust tip.

Now it should just slide out with a little bit of pull and jerk but I used a flathead screwdriver and wiggled it a little to make it easier

And there you go they are off!

You can leave the hinges on there but when I started my car it made it sound like i had a can in there lol so I removed them placed them in a nice spot.

I uploaded a video, on the sound and im super pleased with the outcome, now im just in need of some good looking exhaust tips to get pipes welded on.

Well hey, the detail is phenomenal.

OP, why delete the muffler? You lose the Gorgeous OEM sound.

I had a custom mid pipe with made no resonater. I got a new megan oe rs muffler installed. It sounds great and got more ponies. Has stk sound just deeper and alittle louder

Not a fan of loud 4 or 6 cylinder exhausts. But to each their own.

Ever heard a Porsche 911 turbo with a loud exhaust? Sounds worse than a fartcan civic.

I think our stock exhaust sounds about as good as 6 cylinders can.

Not a 911 turbo, but it's a great way to make a $90,000 Porsche sound like a 50 year old VW.

Yuck
