not necessarily. has to be proven to be a safety issue. we'll see. i'm thinking it will be a recall but you might be surprised and i've learned never to assume what a manufacturer is going to do based on just a few experiences that i know of.

TSB Status?

My car has the same issue. Does anyone know if this is an official TSB and if so what is the number?

so my dealer called. they got the new column, got it installed, but then it "overheated" and the motor died. so they are ordering a SECOND column, which is coming from the east coast and won't get here till tuesday.

holy poo! sounds like infiniti's source on those columns ain't so hot.

Dealer called, column came in, wants to sked replacement. Called and left msg - the cure's worse than the disease, thanks but no thanks. Now if they issue a _safety_ recall...

did they say it was part of a larger problem or could become a huge problem?

didn't have the opportunity to ask that question. all my dealer said was after they had sent the note to infiniti, the factory returned with "replace the unit, do not repair."

dealership techs do not like that message coming from the mothership. it means that either they are going to be doing a lot of that job, or somehow something got screwed up and even the factory has no idea how to fix it.

congrats, you're the second guy to stump the techs with a problem!

Just went to the dealer to bring out the same problem that ive been having...20 min after i leave the dealership, they call me bakc saying that there is no problem that the mechanics can find with the steering column. So either these guys are retarded or the issue is not that big of a deal. Lets see if there are any updates on this matter later on.
