Question about adding some sound to my G

I actually posted this exact question in another thread but it was slightly off topic for it and i dont think it got enough reads for an answer. Sorry fellas but i need an answer.

Im really not into music like that anymore. I used to have a 91 legend that would set alarms off that were down the block and across the street. I still have 1 10 inch sub (my other one fell and broke) which is 2ohms. I also have a 1000 watt 2 channel amp which is also 2ohms for this. Im actually a little skeptical that the G's factory system can handle this bass without being overwhelmed. How does everyone think that will sound?

I am stuck between using this setup and just buying myself a baselink. What im curious about is 1. Does anyone think the g's factory system will be able to handle the power of what i mentioned up top. And 2 would either setup hookup the same to the factory system? Or is the baselink easier to hook up to a factory system? I remember on my 05 maxima i had to use something called the bose pac oem converter or something. Is it the same for the G, and would it be the same for either system i use?

i hear ya but im not sure if its cheapest in my case, considering that i already have this stuff. Im just not so sure if the G's stock system can handle a 2ohm 500 watt 10 inch sub.

I just installed a MTX basslink-type Sub. Mounted in the left rear of trunk, firing across the trunk, Sounds nice and clean, goes really well with the stock system, make it seem much louder, nice to have a little more bottom end. Very good idea, and won't break the bank!

Sweet! How did you mount it?

Could you have mounted it on the board at the back of the rear seats, or did you just know where you wanted to put it from the minute you decided to do it?

Thanks

Are you asking if you can connect your 500 watt sub to the factory amp?

If you are then, then no. Even if you did it wouldn't be any louder, most likely the opposite. I doubt your sub is as efficent as the bose sub, therefore it wouldn't be as loud.

NOw if you want to add an amp then sure. THe basslink type subs have built in amps, that's why they can be used and are louder.

no i mean wiring up my 1000watt 2ohm mtx thunder 81000D to one single rockford fosgate power dvc 10 inch woofer which is also 2ohms. My worry is that the G's system doesnt have good enough highs and mids to handle the bass this thing puts down. When I had 2 of those bad boys in my trunk with that amp...it was no joke.
