trouble with invisicord

Anyone have trouble installing the invisicord? I was working with mine and got the power wire in but the ground would not go. I tried using some force but I ended up breaking the tip to the power wire off into the harness. I was able to get it out, no big deal, but now I have to find a new connector for the wire.

anyone know which connector to get from radioshack? and generally is it supposed to be this hard to get in. There seems to be no room with the wires in there already.

I just took the smallest connectors I could find at Radio Shack, smashed them flat, then ground them down enough so they would fit nicely.

I just installed mine over the weekend, works great. I agree that it is very tight with the other cables already plugged in, I had to use some force but I made sure I held the tip of each cable on the invisicord so that they wouldn't bend/crack under the pressure. In the literature that accompanied the cord, it said to use the supplied mini zip tie to hold the invisicord and existing cable together. Seeing as how tight the wires sit inside the adapter, I doubt they will ever be coming loose. I got the 8" invisicord and it works perfectly for my V1 installed right next to the rear view mirror and just below the sunstrip.

Send the invisicord back and I can get a new one out.

You did get the additional G35 upgrade along with the invisicord right? I also have a invisicord which has been working perfectly for couple months now but you NEED the additional G35 upgrade which invisicord sells for 0.25 cents.

Here is what invisicord has to say:

G35, 350Z, FX35 Upgrade
$.25
Many of the Nissan or Infiniti models, like the Infiniti G35, FX35 or Nissan 350Z mirror harnesses are much smaller than normal, and a special smaller quick-connector has to be utilized. Please add this to your cart as a notification of this special order item.

You have to add both the invisicord and this 0.25 cent option to your shopping cart. The regular sized inviscords will be too fat for our rides.

+1, I ended up buying 2 because I broke the tip of the first one and just bought a second. But now I want to relocate it to the visor and wanted to just put new tips on a old telephone cord. The tips are thin as hell though so I haven't been able to find a suitable one

Just finished my "Mikes mount with Invisicord" Monday night. The install was very easy and looks almost "factory" (I did purchase the recommended invisicord adapter).

Great products and customer service!

I do sell a DIY kit for $8, just be sure to add the G35 addon ($8.25 total) so I know which tips to send. This was due to an overwhelming response to those that just wanted to use their own cords, but not have to drive around to find the parts at $3 a gallon and have to buy more than what they needed. Just go to the order page, and it is about halfway down. You get everything but the cord itself.

yea I did get the nissan/infiniti upgrade to the smaller tips. The ground wire on my mirror harness is just so tight in the connector. The power was tight but doable but the ground is another story. really no room to wiggle it in there. As soon as I am done moving I will be sending the invisicord back to get repaird and give it another shot. I'll keep you guys up to date
