08 ECU reprogram for 2007 cars?
I've seen it mentioned here and in MotorTrend, but has anyone actually had the "new" ECU programming for the 2008 sedan done on their 2007?
I'd be interested to hear results.
I'm less worried about how aggressive the throttle is, and more curious to see if it'll fix any other wierd quirks with the car (mostly tranny issues).

I got the new program this week. I went to get the "cruise surges when going downhill" TSB fixed, and they reflashed the ECU. So far, I have noticed that the car is easier to drive sanely in town (throttle is a lot less touchy).
No report yet on fuel mileage change.

Did you just ask for the TSB fix, or did you ask for the 2008 reflash as well? I sent Infiniti a question yesterday about this and received this very helpful reply ;-)

I just purchased a 2007 G35x. The throttle tip in is extremely abrupt. I noticed that the review in Popular Mechanics mentioned that the 2008 model had less abrupt tuning. As the engines and electronics are identical I would like to have my ECU/ECM reflashed to the 2008 settings. How can I go about having this done? Would ITB07-028 accomplish this? > I bought my vehicle at Infiniti of Ardmor</comments>

Does anyone have a reference for a 2007 being reprogrammed with 2008 SW? I have not been able to find anything in Motor Trend, only this article in Popular Mechanics:
-----------
http://www.popularmechanics.com/auto...s/4220194.html
"But it’s difficult to be smooth around town with the Infiniti. The engine’s throttle tip-in off idle is pretty abrupt. It’s not a problem on the open road, but in stop-and-go driving with just a touch of throttle, we’re spilling our morning Starbucks. Trying to grandma off the line just creates a lot of cutting-in-front and merciless honking. Sheesh.
So, we called Infiniti, which resulted in a senior powertrain engineer coming by to demonstrate a 2008-spec G35. The company had identified the same issue, and revised the engine-tuning param*eters appropriately. It’s a big improvement."
---------
Note that the 2007 was not reprogrammed; rather a 2008 G35 was demonstrated.

I went in to get the TSB fix for the cruse control. I left with a car that is much easier to drive at a moderate pace.
I don't spill my Starbucks every time I leave from a stoplight anymore.

Whether or not you intended it, by doing so, it implied that you thought you got the 08 ECU given the topic heading.
So chances are you didn't get the 08 ECU update. Just trying to get a perfectly clear picture.
Thanks for the clarification dopey, I was also confused in thinking we were discussing a 2008 ECU reflash into the 07.
That being said, even if the 07 TSB does help the problem, those of us with the ICC are still left out?
