Why would ICC change the need for this fix (and I am not meaning to offend). If you go downhill on an open road using cruise and feel surges you have the problem being addressed. Likewise, if you have abrupt/jerky throttle response you have other half of problem that isnt mentioned but gets fixed. Cant believe they would develop two sets of programming just for icc.

I don't have ICC. The TSB states for cars without ICC, but I can't see how that matters?? They are remapping your fuel. How does ICC change that?

Got the CC surge done yesterday, they reprogramed the ECU and now my G feels a lot better... they almost wasn't gonna do it, they were saying that unless the customer felt the TSB/Recall that's the only time they would do it i think thats BS, so what i did was lie that i had felt it so they could reprogram the ECU, they gave me a loaner, and it was an 07 journey first time i drove one and it was a lot comfortable compared to my sport.. but i still like my sports better

Many thanks for the posts that pointed out the improvement in throttle response when fixing the cruise control. I would not have known about it otherwise and the overly sensitive throttle has been driving me crazy.
I had the fix two days ago and it is an amazing improvement. It is not just the tip in, but as noted by others, the full range of the throttle is improved. I notice a much smoother ride overall, and much better handling on curves, since now I can accelerate smoothly, without the car jumping away from me. The car feels much more athletic and under control. Finally, after a six month delay, I can say it is fun to drive.

I called my dealership (Hoehn Infiniti, Carlsbad) and they said they don't have the cruise control update yet... only the Intelligent Key recall.

Any reason some dealerships wouldn't have it?

I just had the cruise control update done and I can't be happier. I did lie and say I felt the down hill surge, not sure they cared either way, but I wanted to ensure getting it done.

I also had the voice tags/speach recognition done, the key fob exchange and a new piece of molding installed (it fell off).

All done in 2 1/2 hours.

I love my car.

When I went in to get the voice tag/voice recognition software fix, they didn't have the CD around that contained the software (well, they thought they didn't but they did), so it's possible that if they never did one, that they'd have to order the cd or whatever contains the ECU update.

If you have ICC, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't have the sensor part in stock.

Realistically, if they don't have the parts, you should take ask them to order them. My dealer is annoying. They won't pre-order the parts. They make me bring the car in, they then make sure that they know what they need and they order the part (either giving me my car back and call me when the part is in, or they give me a loaner til they get the part), usually the former, one time the latter but that's because my car was undrivable (i.e. parts dismantled) by the time they figured out they didn't have the part.

This is why whenever i've had a TSB done, I've had it done during some other service.

The G35's biggest flaw is that it leaves the line a little too eagerly, and Infiniti says a fix for its light-switch throttle is in the works for 2008.
That was from the RD review... Ain't that a good news!

Well I finally got my car back after the CC surge ITB07-028 was done. I have to admit the car does launch better than before. It doesn't have the lag/lurch off the line like before. Overall I'm glad I went ahead and did this because I plan to track my car in a driving school in a week. I'm ready for some spiritual driving now, hope I can keep up with the beamer boys. Should be quite a weekend to remember.

Took a copy of the TSB to the dealership and mentioned the "surge" in cruise control operation. They just went ahead and did the program upgrade without any comments. I had more grief trying to get the seat belt height adjuster cap replaced (the tensioner spring on the cap was weak and allowed it to rattle).

The car is still powerful but now much better-mannered.... no more jerky response on the throttle. As another poster stated..."a more linear response" describes it very well. This definitely does not mean it is docile or dull, though.

Certainly, I would recommend the TSB be implemented.

UPDATE:

I FINALLY got my CC TSB done. I love the results. Throttle response is more linear.

The car still gets up and goes when you want it to. You just have more CONTROL now. Two thumbs up!!

Also, I should note that throttle response feels identical to the 2008 sedan that I drove and torque converter lockup is more smooth.

This TSB actually fixed a coupe other problems I had (thud when accelerating from a stop and when on and off the gas at 40 mph).

Maybe it's a "cure all" for the 2007 quirks.
