Anyone experiencing jerkiness on off-throttle with 6MT?

At between 2-3K, when slightly lifting on the gas pedal, car would slightly buck as if the throttle is shut completely. This is not when accelerating but just cruising. Any ideas on this, or is this what's expected ? Thanks for any inputs, guys.

I think this is normal. I used to notice it all the time but either it went away or i just don't notice it anymore. I've posted this same thing before and a lot of people said it was normal.

In what gear are you experiencing this? All MTs are slightly "luggy" at one point or another. Usually more noticeable in the lower gears.

When I jab the gas, you can feel the lag between the pedal and the engine jumping to life. It's a byproduct of the electronic throttle bodies. I read in a car mag a year or two ago that they noticed this on the Maxima with the electronic throttle body. The lift off jerk is the this action in reverse combined with drivetrain slack. Sucks, huh.

Go to the dealer and ask for the Cruise Control Surge fix. Simple plug and fix fuel remap. Car drives completely differently now. Highly recommended.

Read about it here~

This little delayed "kick" after you let go of the gas is irritating. I still can't ignore it. Just seems like it makes an otherwise smooth car rather rough.

I've noticed this too... If you're cruising and completely let off the gas, between 2-3k it will jerk into decel.

I've already gotten used to keeping my foot lighly rested on the gas pedal. It prevents it from jerking, and the throttle is so stiff that it doesn't result in any acceleration.

The car has enough torque that you can just drive around in 2nd. Or if you want to be in first, modulate the throttle extremely gentley.

If you guys are referring to the quick deceleration in 1st gear when you let off the gas, it's normal. happens in practically all MT cars. i've owned 2 MT Maximas, 2 MT Accords, an old MT Pulsar, and they all did the same thing....

That was mentioned, but not the primary issue.

The issue w/ the hitch/decel between 2-3k rpm occurs in 2nd/3rd/4th/ect. when the throttle is lifted and the car is coasting through those rpm.

I see....It should still lug a little as MT cars normally do (e.g. engine braking), but should not be as noticeable as in 1st gear. hard to say if it's a "problem" or not on your specific cars though...

It's not really a lug... its more like the throttle bodies slam shut and it goes from normal decel to 'hard' decel. Hard to describe... but if you've got a 6MT I'd imagine you'd know the feeling.

Yep, I do have a 6MT, but I don't notice any unusual lugging or "hard" decel. Hard to pinpoint this one. I guess you gotta drive it to know what you're all describing...

Yea, if you don't notice it I don't want to make you find it, it may bug you then

But cruise in 3rd gear at 3,500 rpm. Then take your foot completely off the gas. Observe what happens between 2-3k.
