I too tried it this morning. I didn't even go the length off pulling the muffs from the hangers, I just let them dip down and hang (just to get a feel for the volume).

Like everyone who has tried it, it really sounds good. Really gives you that VQ burble/purr. It may be a little louder than what a "luxury" car would normally have, but certainly not any louder than what most STi's have.

With the windows up, you really can barely hear it. Windows down and you can hear it, maybe a little more than an AM exhaust would give at full throttle but its for me to say though because I haven't heard any on the 07G sedan.

I buttoned it back up until Monday, but if my performance shop can put in some straight pipes with the VBand clamp, I'm taking em back off for them to put some straight pipes on. Should be nice to be able to switch back and forth.

IMO, this option sounds better than most AM exhausts I've heard on any 350Z/G35. Those to me lose their burble and get raspy. We'll see how it goes.

went to a few shops, around $150-200 for the set, with rubber hangers.

This was at local chain like shops that are the only ones open on sat. Will go to a performance shop during the week.

With regards to the sound, its not really like a civic or gsr, or any other 4 banger. It has more rasp, and hardly any of that irritating shrek you get with a the over strung, under powered 4 pots.

It actually sounds a bit like a boxer motor aka 993 or a sti... was considering putting the stock mufflers back ony, but then i took another drive, and really like the gurgle ....

That's a coupe...right? Not even a competition with the sound of the sedan, coupe wins every time.

I should mention that on my 05 maxima, they had something in the muffler's (forgot what it was called, some kind of open/close butterfly style thing i believe. I Had my mufflers cut and put 2 greddy sp2's on there, and did a straight pipe in place of resonator. Basicly a home made greddy exhuast. With the mufflers on the car lost so much torque it was unreal. I thought it was in my head at first so I wasnt really sure. The day I installed the factory muffllers again I did a test. With the greddys, I puched it off the line traction off and the car barely burned out. With the stocks did the same thing and it burned ruber shifting into second gear non stop. Car was an auto, left in tip tronic.

I'd been warned this could be the case, but after going back and forth between on and off I've noticed no difference. I'd even be tempted to say the car is quicker after 50 miles w/o mufflers.

i'd have to agree

definetly no torque loss, i was breakin traction all the time in first and second. 0-60 runs actually feel slightly stronger, could be just the extra sound, but definetly not slower.

Definitely not slower... I just ran a 13.8 @ 102 w/ them off the car.
