Question Walking away while engine running w/ intelligent key in pocket

Guys, I haven't done this as I'm worried what might happen if I did. But what happens when you walk away from your car while it's running, and the intelligent key is still on you? I read through the manual, and it wasn't clear on what happens. Once the car is on, does stay on with or without the key until you shut if off?

Edit: Just realized I had botched up the title of this thread! (although it was probably more eye catching than the correct title)

my friend has the IS350 with I-key, and he got dropped off by his gf, and had the keys in his pocket. She drove home and when it was time to pick him up, she realized she didn't have the key to start the car.

So if you're one of those people who insist on leaving the car running while running in for a pack of smokes... lock her up!!!
Anyone can drive away and it'll continue to run until they shut it off.

wrong,
you can lock the doors with the car running and get back in the car as long as you have the i-key on you! you dont have the break the window, simply press unlock on the remote or the button on the door.

Ah, a very good thing to point out. I'll definitely have to be more mindful of the key. There have been a few times that I've wanted to step out of the car to drop something off (e.g. DVDs for Blockbuster), and rather than drive up to the curb and leave the car running, I've parked and turned the car off.

Thanks for all the response. Nice to know that you can walk away, lock it, and unlock when you come back all while it's running.

you didnt understand. in order for someone to steal ur car when its running, without the i-key and have the doors locked, they would have to break the window. i know u can unlock the door using the i-key duhhhhhh.
