RPM variance

Hello,

I just got 08' G35 Ivory/Stone last Saturday from Mike. (Thanks Mike)

Today morning, I turned on the car and wait little bit (less than 1min) to warm up the engine. (By the way, my car is parked indoor parking garage.)

I realize one odd thing. As soon as I turned on the car, RPM stays about 2000~2100 and eventually it goes down to about 1500~1200. I also felt little bit of shaking from time to time. (Hard to explain but I will say engine vibration or similar)

Is this normal?
Since I moved from Civic which doesn't have RPM meter, I don't know if I have to worry about this.

How old are you? It seems like you don't know much about cars.

Omg, The Car Starts Moving If I Put It In D!

Haha, I'm just messing with you. It's perfectly normal. The engine is warming up when it's at 2000rpm and it eventually goes down after a while because the engine is all warmed up and all the juices are flowing.

All cars do this and have since forever. In the old days you had a manual choke and you had to pull it out to start the car, then wait for the car to warm up before pushing it back in. Basically it adds richness (ups the fuel to air ratio) to the fuel mix so your car runs better.

Today, we have the automatic choke. Same process.

Perfectly normal. That's the car's warm up sequence.

Normal - I usually wait until about 1,200 rpm before shifting into gear. The shaking is also normal, although I haven't really noticed it lately; the VQ engines don't run completely smoothly at idle, you'll feel it stumble slightly from time to time. My Maxima did it too.

On a side note, my car started to act funny...

On a cold start it actually revs up a lot higher than normal up to 2500rpms, which i never seen it do even in the coldest weather.

In reality, i dont really care LOL, even if it was idling at a nice and toasty 6000RPMS..
