Question Aftermarket parts and their affect on warranty

I would very much like to install an aftermarket intake and/or exhaust in the future. Basically just simple bolt-ons. Not sure if this question has been asked before. But by doing these mods, will this void the powertrain and/or bumper to bumper warranty? Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks

My dealership service advisor told me intakes and exhaust would NOT void warranty but Turbo's and Superchargers would void warranty.

It depends on the service department. Some try to say anything before emissions will void warranty, while others will always blame everything on the aftermarket intake. But under the Magnuson-Moss Act, they supposedly have to be able to prove your mods caused the damage before they can refuse you service under warranty. But from what I understand, it's up to you to prove it didn't cause the damage, and it's up to you to sue them... A shop can say they don't want to work on your car because it's modded though...

^when i went back in jan/feb to look at and test drive the car, the salesman tried to give me a line of b.s. i may be young but i am not stupid, and i do not know why older people do not understand that. plus i think i knew more about the car than the salesperson so i walked out.

+1 for riverside parts/service department tho.

Then come buy a car from me. If you know more than me I'll buy you lunch.

i tried to purchase a car from riverside. i had a horrible experence with the new car sales person/manager there each time.

i have not had personal experience with riverside infiniti with serivce/parts on my personal car, but on our company cars it has been great.

Thanks for the response guys, I've been searching through older threads also. It seems to be a mixed bag of dealer service experiences. I guess I would have to contact the dealer I bought the car from and see what they have to say. And if they don't honor the warranty for a modded car, e.g. modded intake and/or exhaust, I'll just see if I can find another dealer that won't make a fuss about those kind of mods.

Or just take the mods off before you bring it in for servicing...especially if something is wrong with a part of the car that you modded...
