Technosquare

1) How hard is it to get to the ECU?

2) What happens after your 'tuned' and you go to the dealer or something and they access or update the ECU? Is it going to write over the TS flash or what?

I realize this is something to ask them but since I'm on, I'll throw this out there. Also, it may just be me, but every time I call them (twice now), I have a hell of a time communicating with them. I try to ask simple questions about their product and they sound confused, there's never a tech around to answer the questions and they tell me to call back next week.... kind of frustrating.

EDIT: Wanted to add. Talked to UpRev today in Austin, Tx. They said they're finishing up a couple projects and hopefully in 2 - 3 weeks, will start working on getting the 07/08 G35 Sedan tuning done and hope to have it ready to market by the end of summer. UpRev markets their "Osiris" tuning, which is done by a PC connected to the OBDII port. It will also store up 3 maps that you can toggle through. Being that I'm not far away from them, I may be waiting for them to follow up, or maybe I can talk them into Beta Testing on my car.....

sounds great! the only question id like to add is when you take your car in for service, will the dealer know that your ecu has been reflashed, and will they refuse to work on it/void ur engine warranty?

you can always toggle back to the stock ecu map when you take your car in for service.

not real sure how all that works, but with UpRev, you would have the files on a PC with an OBDII cable, so I guess if it was erased or something, you could just reload it in. UpRev also offers free updates as you add mods, so once you buy it, you have it, and they'll continue to support your growing mods. Pretty nice.

hmm so everything is done thru the OBD2 DLC. that means whoever purchases the program can download just get the cable to run from USB to DLC?

hmnmm that would be nice.

that's no good...i think it'll be worth the wait. can't you supposedly customize the A/F ratio yourself?
