Wax not beading up

I waxed the car about a month ago and the water on the hood, truck, and roof isn't beading up anymore. It's like someone took dish soap to them and stripped off the wax. The rest of the car beads nicely, what gives?

wax only lasts a few weeks, if you want something that lasts longer, you should get a sealant.... Some people do a sealant, layer it, and wait a day and put wax over it for serious depth and protection

those parts of the car get the most direct sunlight. maybe that has something to do with it? i had my paint checked out and they said it was thinnest on my roof and hood.

Exactly. Depending on how often you wash and conditions, monthly will be normal. Come hang out in the detailing section of this forum, some good stuff in there. This thread will be in there before long...

+1 If your car is outside during the day, the wax on the horizontal surfaces is going to wear out fastest.

I use Zaino Z8 on mine every time I wash it, easy to do and adds additional protection.

Thanks for all the help. I think I'm going to apply the sealent and then the wax next time.

Mine still beads after 6 months. I used REJEX. I'm very happy with it so far.

My thoughts for "not beading" are 1. cheap wax, 2. sunlight, 3. Acid rain?
