Steering wheel control malfunction ("Enter" knob)
Steering wheel control malfunction ("Enter" ****)
This just started happening today. When I use the "Enter" **** on the steering wheel to cycle through my prest radio stations.....pressing down, I can only cycle through the first two preset stations. Pressing up, it will cycle through all of them, except the first preset. The "Enter" **** seems to work fine when used for any other function. Please help!!
Edit: I did do a search, but didn't find anything relatively close to my issue.

Thanks for the advice snowcrossmxz. I tried that too, but unfortunately it didn't fix mine. I'm taking it to the dealer today. Hopefully its an easy fix, otherwise, time to use that warranty.
Wow - This just happened to me this morning. I was on present 4 I believe, went down and it went to preset 1 (did not highlight or display I was on preset 1) but I could no longer use the control to go up/down. Manually hit the # button and it started working again.

I've had a similar problem that just started a few days ago. The weird part is that it only happens on a specific preset.
On my Tuner A, I can't go down from Preset 1 to Preset 2. I can go up all the way through no problem and cycle through just fine, but I can't go down from 1 to 2. I have to press the "2" button on the dash and then I can go down from 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 to 6 to 1, but when I'm at 1 again, I can't go to 2, I have to press the button on the dash.
Weird part is that it happens only for that specific station 100.3fm (Z100 in NYC). I don't have that problem on Tuner B or C, I can cycle through those stations fine in both directions...so I don't think it's the switch itself.
Have had the car almost 2 years and it just started happening the other day. I don't get it at all.

OK, so as I was driving home today I figured out why it wasn't working (altho I don't know what caused the problem). These are observations from my instance...hopefully it's the same for you.
Basically the car doesn't remember that the station is a preset. If you look at any of your presets on the status screen it will say "Preset A1" or "Preset B3", etc. What happens is the car know's it's a preset for a second and then forgets right away. So if you watch, when you click down, it'll go from "Preset A6" to "Preset A1" then a second later to "Preset A" (no "1"). That's why it can't go to the 2nd preset because it doesn't know it's currently on A1 (thus doesn't know to go to A2). If you go down from A6 to A1 and then real quick click down again (before it forgets and just changes to "A") then it'll go down A2.
Now when on A1, if you hold down the "1" on the dash to re-program the preset, it'll realize it's A1 and you can click down, but it'll forget again the next time you end up on it.
The way I got it to work was I changed my A1 to another station. Mine was 100.3, I changed it to 100.5. I cycled through to make sure it worked (it did), then I went back and changed it back to 100.3. I cycled through and checked to make sure it still worked and voila! I've turned my car on/off a few times since then (went to dinner, etc) and it still works! Let's just hope it stays that way.
Saves me a trip to the dealer.
