starting up problems?
this is the 2nd time its happened to me and im starting to worry.. when i turn my car on from a cold start (from the night before), the car turns on and then idles higher than normal (1300-1500).. and then today my clutch wasnt working.. i was pressing it all the way down but no movement in the shifter.. so i turned the car off and then turned it back on and the problem was solved.. but i was wondering why this was happening? btw i put my car into 2nd gear after i turn it off and put it into neutral before i turn it on (to keep the car from moving if anything did happen, just an extra precaution)

OK, I'm not sure I understand your problem. Does the idle not go down after about 60 to 90 seconds? It is normal for it to idle high to start with but it should drop to around 1K to 1200 after about a minute and a half.
As for the clutch - what do you mean, no movement in the shifter? Are you meaning it wouldn't go into gear or that you couldn't move the shifter? Have you had any other issues with shifting or getting into 1st gear at a stop? It could be a problem with the master or slave cylinder but from what you said, I'm not sure. Can you be more specific in your descriptions?

As far as the clutch, if you have an 07, it might be the clutch system recall.
Edit: Would have helped if I looked at your sig. 2008's shouldn't have the clutch problem. You may have a faulty master or slave cylinder. Air in the line would prevent the clutch from disengaging and you wouldn't be able to get it into a gear.
thx for the idle info.. i will look into tat tomorrow.. as for the clutch.. it wouldnt go into gear at first.. until i restarted the car.. i havnt ran into this problem again so i guess its ok.. oh and its the first new car ive driven.. lol.. i always drove an used car..

That's pretty weird about not going into gear but if it doesn't do it again, don't worry about it. LOL
Mine made a horrid, scary noise about 2 weeks ago but only for a moment and hasn't done it since so I am trying to just forget it happened.
