Automatic Shifting Problem

I have replaced my transmission twice now and my car still has problems.

The problem:

1. I start the car and put it into tiptronic.

2. When I pull up to a stop sign I switch it back into automatic.

3. Once I have gone from tiptronic to automatic, it wont switch anymore.

I try to switch back to manual mode but it still says drive instead of ds or 1ds...So I decided to start driving to see if it would shift in Manual mode even though it says drive, but it wont...it gets stuck in automatic...so I will turn the car off...and it will go into DS for one more time but if I switch it wont go back.

What the hell is the problem...

sounds like it's more a software problem than a hardware problem...especially if you've already replaced the tranny twice now...

lol. You have the same problem as me.

Mine is fixed though, after a trip(actually a few bc the idios wouldn't pick up their phones) to the dealer. It turned out to be some kind of sensor in the shifter assembly that went bad and actually threw a code. I had a thread describing the exact same problem.

Has your car been in extremely hot weather? That's what I thought happened to mine... but it could've just died randomly or got worn out. How many miles do you have?

P.S. It'll be covered by warranty. Go get it fixed and enjoy it like you should be doing.

No problem ^^ I don't think its a worn issue bc mine lasted 40k+ miles and I use it 99.99% of the time... The only time I'm in D is when I'm switching from P-DS lol.

I'm sure it'll be a simple fix.
