I guess that's what you have to go through with a merger, take the good with the bad. It's too early for Christmas, it's not even Thanksgiving yet.

thanks got the email from xm today morning and printed my lineup.
i think this isnt what they should call a merger because they cut channels. i mean a merger should be if there are 5 xm pop stations and sirius has 4 there should 9 total, not cut the xm channels and replace them. just my 1c+1c

That would be nice. But the whole point of the merger was to cut operating costs as neither one was going to survive long on their own. Besides, the sats already have bandwidth issues, so doubling the number of channels was not an option.

Octane and Faction are both pretty good rock channels for people looking around for new music.

Finally! I can get Faction on XM. It was the only channel on Sirius that I actually wanted.

I'm in the XM plan now.... To be honest... I am really happy about this, as I finally can get some better music. The more alternative stations on XM suck, with a few exceptions. "Fred" sorta sucked and "1st wave" is way better. "area" is also better. And we get a get a few other cool ones like "classic vinyl" and still keep "deep tracks"

BUT... a few casualties along the way... My kid liked the "kid station" on Sirius which I got on my Dish Network... Also, there is no "disco" station on either network, which, if I am in the right mood... hits the right spot of silliness.
