Question wheel hp vs engine hp

i have an automatic 08 g35s. 2 1/4 exhaust, magna flow and a techno square tune. peak whp is 283.
how does that translate to engine hp. I've been told to use 20% for manualtrans and 25% for auto trans, to calculate engine hp.. anybody know??

If I remember correctly, the V35s it was 17% for AT 15% for MT.

I might be wrong :O

if ur car is 283 at the wheel,
then using your numbers with an AT you have 353HP and with an MT you have 339HP.

using screensavers numbers with an AT you have 331HP and with an MT you have 325HP.

my AWD AT stock was 252whp. from 306 at the crank. so thats about a 22% DT loss. if that helps.

Yeah about 20-25% is accurate. power loss is all in your drivetrain. :-(

Every dyno is different. Without a pre-mod baseline you will never know for sure but ~17-18% is very common for VQ's.

FWIW, I had a baseline dyno of 243.2 on my 5AT. That means about 21% drivetrain loss on my car.
