No Cold Air

Hey All,

I've had my trusty 07 sedan for 4 years now (52k miles), and about a week ago my AC stopped blowing cold air. The blower works fine, but when I put it on 60 it no longer blows cold air.

Tried a re-charge, however, I didn't add any 134a since the pressure on the gauge was reading max psi, and the dial was all the way around, probably over 100psi. I thought it was a faulty gauge at first, but I used it on another car and it read a nice 50psi.

Ideas?

Seek professional help.

j/k,

but seriously . .. I bet if you swung by an AC shop and spoke to an experienced AC tech, that he could point you in the right direction in a hurry.

The troubleshooted and the AC compressor went bad.

They want $1200 installed.

The warranty is 4yr/60k miles, I've had it for 4yrs and 2 weeks and its only at 52k miles. I better have luck.

Nope, warranty expired June 28th of this year. Awesome! Anyone got any tips to where I can haggle!?

Thanks Infiniti. Next time I'll try Lexus,Acura, or BMW.

I would definitely call Infiniti USA (corporate) customer service and plead your case. They have been known to make exceptions in situations like this where you're only out of warranty by a few weeks. You've definitely got nothing to lose. They may (or may not) make you an offer to pay for the part or the labor outright, or maybe split it with you, it all depends. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip. I'll try that.

Other thing that gets me is that even though I signed the purchase and sale June 28th 4 years ago, it was still a couple weeks for delivery for me to receive it since it was coming from Maryland.

(I wanted the 6spd Sport, and none were around here since its New England and its all mostly AWD X's, so they had to search far and wide)

Corporate customer service didn't help, they just said "yup, expired June 28th".

Sweeeet.

get the compressor from junkyard, also check part numbers on infinitipartsusa and see if they are the same as previous Gen in which case you can find one pretty cheap and then any good local mechanic should be able to install this... Its pretty easy really.

Checked, they have it for $574, no part number though, and says its for years 07-08. So probably a no go with the previous generation.

Found some links havent tried any of these companies so ask and confirm fitment with them if you order.

Also found a couple on ebay for real cheap but confirm fitment since it says they got it from a G37 but says it was a VQ35HR engine....

Im pretty sure if you spend enough time inline looking for this you can easily find a good used one for ~$200 which is THIRD the price of a new one from autoparts so make your decision accordingly.

Hope this helps, G/L

I had the AC go out on me too. One day, it just stopped blowing cold air at all! I took it to the dealership and later found out that the Stillen Gen 3 intake caused some damage in the AC line. The tubing was touching/rubbing against part of the AC line which caused a leak over time.

OP, do you have the Stillen Gen 3 intake by any chance?

My AC went out a month ago and had the compressor replaced under warranty. Under inspection, they also noticed my head gasket was leaking!!! Not good at all. They ended up replacing that as well.
