Ive seen the philips ones, expensive but only run at 35W for a 6000k.

was thinking about getting 4 6000k bulbs, and maybe installing custom fogs on my grill on the bottom, somehow fabricating a nice little plastic mount to make them look like they belong there. (which they do!!!).

Anyone know the difference between a 9006 bulb, and an HB4?

put silverstar H1's in my 06 fogs today. Much better match to the hid's

I have to say in 20 years of car ownership that was the most ridiculously difficult task for something as simple as replacing a bulb I have encountered.

I don't have large hands, but I don't have hobbit hands either and apparentely that's what the bulb access was designed for.

I bought the PIAA ION Yellow's. Have had them for about a month or so. Must say, my passenger side buld is white, whereas the driver side is yellow. I'm chaulking this up to a defective bulb of course. However, I can't recall who I purchased these through, so, there goes about $70. Now I'm in the market for new fogs! Suggestions on brands?

I bought some Luminics JDM Yellows and hope to install them this weekend. A lot of guys in the coupe forums had good things to say about their color (deep yellow). Will post pics once they are installed.

I just put my luminics on yesterday and I realized I ended up with a bad set....my driver light is yellower then the passenger light.

Anyhow, easiest way to do it is by jacking up the car, taking off the front wheels and then the splash guards. It sounds like a lot of work but it really isn't. After trying to do this from the engine bay for about an hour and no results, I was able to do it from under the fender very easily! Good luck with the install and I hope you got a good set!

Sorry to hear about the defective set. Maybe you'll be able to get them replaced.

As for the install, I'm hoping I can avoid removing the tire and instead simply turning them to face out and removing the fender liner. Seems to have worked for other people when tryng to access other lights. If that doesn't work, I'll remove the intake boxes and go from the engine bay. Just curious, why would you have to remove the splash guards? Did you mean the fender liner?

automotive lighting usa now sells LED 9006 bulbs. they are an exact match color wise to the 4300k stock hid lights but they are not as effective in lighting as halogen bulbs are. they are more for show. they are on the pricey side(over 100bucks for the bulbs) but it may be worth a shot if like me, you don't think the fog light design is effective anyways.

i noticed that some guys hear equate the colour stated for halogen bulbs to wattage...

Ok lets go:

Watts are watts..K is K LOL K is for the colour... same with HID.. halogens do not really go by K but they do it so you sorta know approximately so you can match your HIDs.

Watts as everyone probably knows is the power consumed, but some funky brands.. do confusing things like says 35w but lights up like 55w... stuff like that like how they do for home bulbs compact flourescent. If stock bulbs wattage is 51W, I think you should not go more than 55w MAX and Ks do not matter.
