Why no LED rear turn signals?

I know my G35 has LED taillights, but why no rear LED turn signals like the FX???

I was driving behind an FX the other night, and the LED turn signals look absolutely SICK.

But that isn't a new model, and I'm really surprised this isn't on our brand new Gs...

Is this mod available, doesn't seem too difficult to simply swap out the bulbs for leds....anyone?

You're right it could blink, but I don't think they want that look. This is supposed to be a Skyline and historically Skylines have had 2 sets of circle brake lights. Although, I don't know what the h3ll they were thinking with the coupe only having one. Maybe they are just being um as the Japanese would say, BAKA!

I'm completely cool with the circles not blinking - from behind with the lights on, the G looks like an F430. Why mess with that? :^)

It's cost. The FX uses the LED brake lights as turn signals a la traditional American cars, so there's no additional cost. I'd much rather have "real" turn signals (that can operate independently of the brake lights) than the setup on the FX.

They can do that with the FX, because it's not sold in Japan which means it doesn't require amber turn signals. The G35 on the other hand is sold in Japan, which is why it has to have a separate turn signal light. Which is also why JDM lights are amber. I wonder if I have to change my tail lights when I move to japan or will they exempt it because it was sold in the US...

There is always something one can wish for on any car. It is what it is.

Good question - I was wondering this as well.
How about this - Can we buy an aftermarket turn signal light that is LED and replace the stock one? How would that look?

You can get the JDM tail lights that have amber circles IIRC. I don't think they look as good as the all red US tails though.

I just ordered LED replacement bulbs today and i'll install them when they get in. I wasn't sure what would look better, red LEDs or white LEDs, so I ordered both to try them out.
