Has anyone installed the 3M clear bra shield themself?

I was looking into getting the 3M clearbra installed until i was told by a local company it was 850 to get it installed for the bumper, hood, fenders, and side view mirrors. I decided to look on ebay and saw that they had genuine 3m material already precut for our cars. If anyone has installed these how hard was it to install and if you had a choice would you pay someone to do it or do it again yourself?
here is a link to the set i was looking at http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-...spagenameZWDVW

850 is high, so you should shop around. I wouldn't recommend taking this on yourself... even experienced tinters have a tough time with the clear bras. I have never done it myself, but have seen the process done, and it is no simple task

that does seem expensive. it will protect your car though so you should def get it done just find some place cheaper. Also do not do it yourself, ive seen people mess it up, even people who did it for a living

I've done 3 on different cars and will put one on my Pilot whenever it arrives.
It's more difficult than tint. You just need to take your time, use lots of soapy spray and get an assistant when needed. Do the hood, fenders and mirrors and stop there if it seems difficult. The bumper is FAR more complicated.

I found the cheapest online dealer at

I've done some successful tinting back then and I was considering doing this myself as well. Did you have to use a heat gun for the sharp curves? Or does it naturally take it's shape?

Yea i dont have too much spare time right now so as of now i have an appointment to get it done next week. I ended up calling the porsche dealer and used the same person they used and the price was better than the first place. $700 and you get a lifetime warrenty from film defects and installer defects so ill let everyone know how it turns out.

Man, i was hoping maybe $300 or less, about the price of window tinting. For $700 or up, i would just get it repainted.

for 299, i got hood, fender corner, and top of the bumper done. It would have cost me about 100 more for rearview mirrors and the rest of the bumper. i'm not so worried about chips on plastic as i am on metal where it can rust, so i opted not to get the extras done.

So damn 850 is way way way too high.

FYI, my 299/399 price was through the dealer even.
