Fixing interior door handle chips

Anyone find a solution to fixing the chips in the interior door handle? It looks like crap and chips too easily (my wedding ring keeps scratching it).

FWIW, I even tried a black sharpie. That just wears off after a week.

I think that we should get infiniti to replace it under warranty. It is a deficient product if it degrades so much under normal use (mine look like crap also). On the flip side, if i had to get new ones, I would find a way to get the stonegard material on it so that it would not chip again.

Replacing it will only work for so long though..... I'll just have to replace it again when it gets messed up again. There isn't any "touch up paint" that'll work so I can keep fixing it?

I just know that it'll chip after a month if I replace it. I may replace it anyways, I'm just looking for a fix for when it scratches again.

How did this happen?!?! I only have like one tiny scratch inside mine...The only thing I keep in there would be my cell phone and it has one of those rubbery covers to it...what are you keeping in there man? you must be keeping spikes in there or something

He says it's from his wedding band. I don't completely understand how it could do that much damage though. I have a wide band with fairly sharp edges in the pattern and I don't have any marks like that on my handle after nearly one year.
It's possible though. My wife manages to scratch the h3ll out of our van handle and steering wheel with her ring. She doesn't drive my G nor does she want to take the chance, which is good for me.

Most of the scratches are from the previous owner (and fingernails).

Whatever rubbery stuff they paint that thing with is waaaay too soft. You could easily remove it all with your fingernails.

My wedding band has a sharp edge to it and is machined in the middle.

My ring looks like this (without the three leaflike things in the middle)

As I mentioned, my ring has lots of edges too.

It's clear that you care more about the car than the previous owner (who did most of the damage) so replacing the part is the best thing to do IMO.
You shouldn't have any trouble with it in the future.
My door switch bezel taken today. The car is 11 months young and driven every day:

Good luck with it.

Your car has wheat interior, his is black, like mine. Damage to wheat would not show like on black. Mine is starting to get some marks also. I don't undertstand it. It looks like some sort of gunk on the bezel that needs wiped off but won't. Is the black rubber coating only about 1 ml thick? I think I'll buy a new bezel after reading this.
