Need input from 6000k and 8000k Bulb Owners

I don't actually have the bulbs yet. so I can't vouch for the in person look. However, I have seen a pic, and well, they look yellow of course: http://www.kbcarstuff.com/PhotoGalle...e=XD%2D3K%2DRB. they are extremely rare for some reason. I was also looking at the McCullough's. I have the driving kit, which cost me a few bucks over $700; I know, I know, expensive as $hit. Have to pay to play! Either way, don't want to get off topic. Feel free to PM.

A bulb is a bulb, honestly. Yes, a genuine philips may last longer...but at what cost? Its an electrical item, and can be defective like any other. Ive been using the "cheap" ebay hid bulbs for the past 3 years now. One set was in my previous car for and is now in my fogs. In that time ive only had to replace one, yes ONE of the cheap bulbs go out on me. With the cost of philips in the $150 range, i rather buy the cheap ones. I can replace them 10-15 times and still be in the price range as one set of the expensive ones. And to be honest, i cant see 10-15 pairs of hid bulbs being needed in say....the next 10 years or whatever the lifespan on the vehicle will be.

Just installed 8000k's from 3B last weekend.
Lucky and TaBz described it perfectly.
I was looking for pure white with a hint of blue but not a dominant blue.
The 8K's fit my needs perfectly.
The light is clean and sharp.
And contrary to what others have said, the intensity seems brighter and sharper.
The light throw/distance was completely unaffected.
I live off of a long straight street with intersecting streets with signs and I could see and read each one at the same distance as my stock lights.
Another thing I noticed....
Many of the street markings and signs contain reflective paint and materials.
The sharper pure white of the 8K bulbs actually emphasize the markings so they appear brighter but with sharp clarity, especially street signs.
I took a few pictures, but as some have said...pictures don't convey the accurate look of the light.
The camera always paints the light bluer than it actually is.
Every pic I took looked too blue.
Even the pics of the 8K's that were posted here look nothing like the actual look in person.....much whiter, much purer.
I'm very pleased with my choice.
But like others have said here....its a matter of preference.
Its like when you see a new design for the first time....you automatically fall in love with it...you're drawn to it....or you're completely repelled.
After I put on the first bulb....I was immediately entranced.
Thanks to everyone for the input.
