Best way to debadge? HELP

New car, new member - just trying to take "infiniti" off my rear end.
I know this is easy to do yourself but I don't want to leave scratches, shadows, or discoloration so I might as well ask the masses - what is the best way to debadge her? Instructions etc...

Thanks for the help...
There is nothing up to debadge the 07-08 Sedans or I wouldn't have wasted my time asking.
Anyone have good input?

Use a heat gun to soften the glue a bit (only run it over it a couple times so you don't ruin the paint.
Then take some dental floss (a fishing line is easier but once again watch out for the paint with it) and run it under the lettering.
It should come off pretty easily. Next get some goo-gone and clean the glue off the trunk and give it a quick wax and you'll be set.

Thanks Borna!
It's a little overcast right now so I don't know about using a heat gun (blowdryer in my case) in the rain!
Is it possible to do without heating first? - and should I take measurments to rebadge just in case something goes awry?

your going to need some heat source. regular hair dryer does the job. i would do letter by letter on high just blow one letter for about 2 mins use ur hand to twist it kinda and if you see it moving then use the dental floss under it and just slid it through. repeat 8 times.

then get goof off or goo gone wet a rag and same thing letter by letter wipe the goof stuff until the glue is off. wash the area with some windex and dry. then just wax the area and enjoy.

Well you could do it without the blowdryer but I'd say wait for a sunny day to get the best results.

You don't need measurements. Firstly cause nothing can really go wrong (it'll look good too) and secondly cause the replacement letters come with a template to mount them in case you don't like it.

Haha. Thanks guys. It's been getting into the 90s already so hopefully hot weather will finally help me do something!
I want to do this so bad right now but patience is a virtue...

2 minutes is wayyyy to long... i hit mine for about 20 seconds while running the fishing line behind the lettering in sort of a sawing motion.... then hit it with a liberal amount of gum adhesive remover...Washed then claybared then waxed the trunk when i was done...

Dude you don't need any heat source,

This is how I did mine.

1- Spray some bug and tar remover on the letters and leave to soak in for 10 min.

2- Get a floss line and just start flossing behind the letters where the glue is.

3- Letters should come off easily and then just take out any remaining glue by either using more bug & tar remover or whatever you find best for removing glue.

Simple really.

fishing line is the way to go on this one with the heat gun and some adhesive remover.

1: Attach fishing line to letters.
2. Anchor line outside the vehicle.
3. Get inside the car and start your engine.
4. Mash the accelerator.
5.

Make sure you post a video, youtube preferably.
Get some advertising on there and you might make a buck!
