Since the stock seats are basically sofas with no lateral support, I wanted to upgrade to a true bucket and found that the A4 seat by Corbeau is a very popular choice. Given it’s relatively small dimensions, lots of Corvette C4-6 owners opt for them.
The seat fits up to a 36” waist. I have a 32” and find them very comfortable and supportive. Sliders need to be ordered separately which I wasn’t aware of until they were installed. Luckily, bolted to the closest setting forward, I’m able to drive without cramping or stretching. Height is perfect. Weight savings with these is substantial to say the least. I just weighed my stock seats….64 lbs each. The A4s are listed at 26. Factoring in the heating element (swapped into the Corbeaus) and mounting bracket, I’d say there’s at least a 65 lb total weight savings, equivalent to 10 gallons of gas. All in all, a good purchase.
Those are quite handsome! but looking at them they don't look that bolstered (on the bottom) really not any more than the stock, nonsport seats. So you can still make these work with stock heated seat parts? They do recline? any lumbar adjustability?

Yes, bottom seat bolstering isn't that much more than stock. That's actually a good thing for a street car because ingress/egress is very easy. Furthermore, high bolstering simply isn't needed in the twisties, at least for me. For the track, perhaps but not for public roads. I have Recaro Pole Positions in my Cayman and those things are a chore getting in and out of due partly to high bolsters. But once situated, they can't be beat. Now the backrest bolstering on the Corbeaus is where it counts. It's more than adequate but forgiving enough for the larger driver. Again, they are a really good street only driven seat.
The heaters can be removed from stock seats and transferred to these. They work perfectly fine. The A4s also have a lumbar option where a squeezy hand pump (think blood pressure) is provided.
They do recline but as I stated in my writeup, you'll need to order sliders if you want the fore/aft adjustability. I'm 5'9" and am ok with the seating position because there's no clutch. If there was, I'd need sliders for sure.

Oh so you bought the $900 seats and installed the stock heating elements from the Infiniti seats into the Corbeau seats ? what was the process for that ? Did you make a video or take some photos that I can view. very cool !!

Sorry, my tech did it while he was FBOing everything. But yes, its a simple swap by taking the existing heating element from the stock sofas and placing them into what I'm guessing is a modified Corbeau which allows this process. They even supply new more modern looking heat toggle switches which take place of the factory ones. Only the bottom of the seat will heat up which is fine by me. I'm not even really a big fan of heated seats, was mainly thinking of resale value at the time. But now, ill be driving this car until it dies. Such an underrated sports sedan! Anyway, its a $165/per seat cost on top of the base $900 (pair) base price. Either or both can be ordered with heat.
Edit: just saw this on their website: "They arrive to you installed in your seats and are easily wired to your vehicle." So I guess the heating element is not swapped over??
