buying a coupe in N cali

Hello all,

I'm looking to pick up a G35 Coupe(manual) later this month. Was wonder first which dealer in Bay Area is best for servicing?
Second any discounts under MSRP?
Third I'm not in the states atm so haven't been able to take a look at one in person. But I've heard the interior isn't up to certain standards. How do you all feel about the interior? And is the rumer that they are redoing the interior true for 2005?
Lastly if you had a pleasant experience with your sales person please give me a recommendation.

Best Regards,
Jesse

I had some bad salesmen at Serramonte infiniti. They are way to pushy there. Ended up going all the way to Pleasanton Infiniti. Much nicer people there. I worked a lease with the internet sales manager there which was a lead from Edmunds.com. I received $500 below MSRP for a 6MT coupe with Premium and XM radio.

For vehicle service you gotta go to Frontier in San Jose. They do everything possible to help you out. They might not be as mod friendly as some dealers though...but I have not had any issues yet.

Peninsula Infiniti is my pick. They have an awesome sales team. I recommend Jim Howland, he is by far the best salesman I have ever dealt with.

I've been in touch with Peninsula ... Frontier never emailed me back.

LOL.. .it's funny how different people have different experiences. Serramonte was the most low key of the the three I visited (Penninsula, Frontier and Serramonte) - the other two were all " what'll it take to get you in this car today" and kept trying to sell me a payment (I had $38k cash in hand and told them up front I don't want any B.S. about a payment - let's talk out the door price) - I bought at Serramonte - and even financed a good chunk since Infiniti Financial Services was offering 0.9%.... My money in a CD is makin 4.5% - it's all good.

Re: buying a coupe in N cali

Hey Jesse, I had a great experience at Serramonte with a sales person by the name of Chris Dela Cruz. I got 1800 off the car and he didn't pressure me to buy or anything. I went in and just told him I'm really interested in buying a G35 coupe, but before we do any negotiating, I want a test drive. He didn't even hesitate and got the keys to a G and we were off for the drive. After we got back, we sat there for about 20 mins goin through all the BS with the price and finally he came up with one that was very reasonable in my range. So I figured what's a couple of hundred more over my five years finance. Anyway, ask for him when you go in and tell him I sent you. hehe...he's a good guy to deal with.

Good luck!!

It IS funny how we all have different experiences at the same dealerships - I noticed the same. I also went to Peninsula, Frontier, and Serramonte (I also talked to reps at Pleasanton and Sacramento). In the end, I also bought mine from Chris at Serramonte. Followed every one of my delivery requests (and there were many...) and was very easy to work with. However, I only got $500 of MSRP after a whole lot of bargaining. I received my ordered 2004 back in late August - you can probably get a much better deal now.DGG35C: $1800 off? Wow! Now I feel ripped off.

Pricing is almost always better in Dec and Jan... inventory tax time. Also, fewer sales in wet and miserable weather - this winter has had more than the normal number of rainy days... My salesman was Savong Eik - he was awesome. Also met Chris and he was great too. They stayed open for me - got there at 30 minutes to closing - let me test drive for 40 minutes (to Half Moon Bay and back) and that was after I told them I'd be paying cash but not buying for a few days - wanted to explore all my options - I did come back and buy it the next day at a great price and couldn't be happier with my experience.

Walked in, told em what I wanted. They told me the car I wanted w/o Spoiler was already on ship over.. Only had to wait 2 weeks.. Thats alot better than 4 months... Love the Navigation..... So many Mexican food places in the city..... I can scroll through and see which one I want to go to......

I had a great experience at Niello in Concord. $1,500 off Dealer's asking price (at a time when almost no one was getting any discounts). Their service department is very good too. I moved to Fremont and I still drive all the way to Concord to get my G serviced.
