[Hawaii]Goodbye Infiniti Hawaii
Re: [Hawaii]Goodbye Infiniti Hawaii
Be aware that as the yen gets stronger the costs of the car will rise even more. Also at the same time,..the costs were already going up every year since the introduction. I would say that peri06 suggestion might be a good one. You could call them here at 808-836-0848 and explain your situation and see if they can order one in with the options you want for that date expentancy. I am sure that they can sell it if you change your mind. It just might take 3 months to get your car in anyhow.
Re: [Hawaii]Goodbye Infiniti Hawaii
I thought the yen was the weakest its ever been in history. I thought I heard that on CNN the other day.
Why not buy the car in Cali before you come back. You could shop around Cali or order from Grubbs in Texas (they deliver) to get the best price. SInce there is only 1 dealer in Hawaii, there is high demand, low stock so competitive pricing does not exist in Hawaii (as in many other goods/services). The current prices here in Hawaii are pretty comparable to other places on the mainland from what I have heard from other drivers. If they do raise it $3K, that would make it more expensive than most of the nation esp. since Hawaii's models typically don't come with navigation.

well what you should do is check the pricing in cali and ship it to hawaii, i believe matson has a port up in nor cal, and the shipping should be around $800. Hawaii gets more g35's then most other states. So check on the pricing in cali, might have a better chance of getting a lower price.
Re: [Hawaii]Goodbye Infiniti Hawaii
thanks for all the good info everyone. btw...some other questions, did all of you buy straight out or finance? i'm planning on putting 5-8k down and doing payments from a credit union loan. what do you guys think of this? i'm still a noob new car buyer hehe.
Re: [Hawaii]Goodbye Infiniti Hawaii
Credit unions usually have the best interest rates by far. Depending on the size and financial backing the FCU is, the lower the interest rates. For smaller FCU's, usually slightly higher interest rates.
By all means, any sizeable down payment is good. On my first G sedan, I had quite a bit of down payment, around 10k, although my credit rating needed some help. Refinanced it through my FCU and I saved apprx. $1200 a year. That extra 1200 can go to other things.
