HAWAII LABOR DAY CRUISE/BBQ
Re: LABOR DAY CRUISE UPDATE AUG 21, 03
Add another Z to that list. I know that a Daytona Blue one will be out that day as well.
14 G35 owners?? Does that include ourselves and the Infiniti crew? One or two more might need to be added to that list. I am trying to get a hold of a couple more people.
Hows the map situation?
Thanks for the updates. Who else is up to coming?

Great!! The more the merrier! Will they work with other handhelds?? How were my directions on the cruise? Did it help out any? Im thinking we may need to add in another stop, just to make this cruise last 3 hours so we can all roll in to Infiniti by 4pm. I will let you know if we do decide to add in a few more pit stops.
Re: LABOR DAY CRUISE UPDATE AUG 21, 03
I have a lunch thing to go to that day but I'll try and hook up with you guys later.
Rick, Keep your cell with you and I'll call you to find out where you guys are.

Rick,
I will be calling Fred to ask him what kind of handhelds they have.
On the map, I think we need to make a stop at Maunalua Bay boat harbor before we go into Kalama Valley. That way no one will get lost going in. I did another run yesterday and it seems we may have to stop there just to regroup. Then go up through Hanauma Bay, Sandys, and up to Kalama Valley.

Re: LABOR DAY CRUISE UPDATE AUG 21, 03
i would not suggest going through hanauma bay. Make a pit stop at Koko Marina Shopping center, and meet at kalama valley after. I think it will be easier to keep everyone together.
Re: LABOR DAY CRUISE UPDATE AUG 21, 03
Just so that we are all on the same page here. Route is,............Moanalua to (lower) H3 lookout, go back on H3 to Aina Haina all the way to Koko Marina Shopping Center (where are we going to find space), then to Kalama Valley. Off to Norfolk through Waimanalo, then to Koolau Golf Course, then to Infiniti. Is this correct?????
Re: LABOR DAY CRUISE UPDATE AUG 21, 03
Somehow this route is not making sense. We start at moanalua, then over the H3 to Kaneohe Bay, then turn around back on the H3 in the same direction we came from (this really doesn't make sense), then head to Koko Maring via the H1, then pass through Kailua ending up at Ko'olau Golf Course, then on to Infiniti.
Why can't we just go in one direction with stops on the way?
Also, if anyone can come up with addresses for our stops, I would greatly appreciate it. Trying to make a driving map for everyone, and it's a bitch!

Re: LABOR DAY CRUISE UPDATE AUG 21, 03
the reason for this route is it is the easiest to keep everyone together and also only one spot for a bottleneck. Most of the way it is all freeway that has multilanes. The reason we are going all the way back the same way up H3 is taking the exit to go on the Pali will lose alot of the cars and will be split up. We are trying to keep the cruise together and not all scattered. If we go around the island in one direction we will get stuck in traffic and the car wil get split up when there is only one lane.
Re: LABOR DAY CRUISE UPDATE AUG 21, 03
That's what the radios are for! Believe me, they do work. We've kept a 25 car cruise together before (not everyone had a radio). No matter where you go, you will always get broken up.The radios help you to stop, regroup, and move along.

Re: LABOR DAY CRUISE UPDATE AUG 21, 03
Directions:
heading east on H1 take the Tripler Cutoff
Make a left on Jarrett White
At the first stoplight make a right on mahiole street and the school will be on the right hand side
If you heading west on H1 you are going to take the Tripler cut off and make a right onto jarrett White
At the first stoplight you are going to make another right onto mahiole street.
From here we are heading to H3 and turning around the the loop stoping at the lookout.
After we are going to head back on the H3 and take the Honolulu exit and get back onto the H1 heading east. For those of you who need to use the bathroom or get a drink stop off at Koko Marina Shopping Center and then proceed to Kalama Valley Shopping Center.
From here we head to Norfolks which is the frist left once we get out out Waimanalo.
After Norfolks we head to to ko'olau then to infinfit to get your grub on.

Re: LABOR DAY CRUISE UPDATE AUG 21, 03
Well we see if people like the route we take. Even though we have the radio when someone is stuck behind car on a one lane road there is no way to get a head unless they pass the car in front while watching out for oncoming traffic, which isn't the safest thing to do. Also, if we keep waiting the cruise is going to take all night and we are going to miss our dinner. With the route we are going to take it will be easy to keep everyone. If you don't like the route you dont have to join the event.
