Hawaii Epilepsy Gathering..brother needs help
I dont know how else to start off on a delicate matter such as this.
I have recently learned that my gf's younger brother, Jesse, isnt doing so well. He has been diagnosed with Epilepsy since childhood and has been doing well since then.
Jesse just celebrated his 18th birthday two weeks ago. Hes very quiet, subtle, but yet a down to earth kid with strong moral ties to his family and God. He wants to live a normal life and be a normal teen like everyone else. Has a passion for video games and computers
Yesterday, I visited with him and my future in laws. I had a chance to get a first hand look at his health. Appearance, he definitely lost a lot of weight as you can see it in his face and body. He has always been able to control his seizures, until a recent change in diet and medication. Yesterday was a pleasure to sit with him and talk to him until he had reoccurring seizures back to back, four within an hours time.
So therefore, I would like to propose a group gathering/charity/donation event or a National event for him as well as others and the Epilepsy foundation.
Locally, if it would be possible for ALL G/Z owners to attend. Dave, Geo, Herb, Fred, you guys are the best of the group. If you have any suggestions as to what to can be done, please let me know. Lets put our heads together for this one cause I would really like to see something GOOD for the club as well as others in need.
Thanks to all who have contributed to the boards and attended our events. Your participation is greatly appreciated.
Aloha

Hi Drew, sorry to hear about your GF's brother. I think it's a great idea to have a fundraiser not just for the $, but also to educate others. It will also be a great chance for the G's/Z's to show our aloha and support, so just say the word and I'll be there. Take care and god bless, Dean.

Re: Hawaii Epilepsy Gathering..brother needs help
Since I havent kept Dave or anyone else in the loop on the situation, things have been looking bright for Jesse. Hes been in the hospital battling his seizures daily. He has a challenge every single day and I have been fortunate to spend time with him this past week.
We want the best for him to live a normal life, without taking millions of pills and live a seizure-less life. His doctors want to send him to Stanford University for tests and hopefully be selected as a candidate for surgery. This is a crucial time for him and his family.
I am merely there to support and wish I could do more.
