Recommendations on where to live in SoCal?
Hello Fellow G35-ers,
I currently live in SF, but want to move down to So Cal for a yr or 2 with a friend of mine. We are looking for a 2 bdrm, preferably near a beach.
I don't know the area well, but was wondering if any of you have any recommendations on where to live? I was thinking West LA area: Santa Monica Beach...
The OC: Irvine, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach
Anywhere else you would recommend? Obviously there is a common Theme here: Beaches.
I also am looking for any IT related work as I am currently working as an IT consultant, but want to find some work down south. My friend is a Software engineer as well.
Let me know if you guys/girls have any input or suggestions for us. Till then, I am sure I will meet some of you at the next meet!
Thanks for your time and consideration!
-Michael.

If you are looking in L.A. County then look no further than Manhattan Beach! Hermosa is a quiet little city too.
If you are looking to save money, but still be near the beach South Torrance and West Torrance are great area.
In Orange County...Huntington Beach will meet all your SoCal needs.

Re: Recommendations on where to live in SoCal?
Depends on how much you want to spend (probably less then what you're paying in SF, I went to school in berkeley and the price was crazy for what you get). I live with 4 other people in a house in huntington Beach for a decent price on rent. It's a nice house with alot of space. Got a little garage space all to myself.

I was there for the last 5 weekend and there is no way in heck i see the beach there. What i do see is lotsa traffic!!! Wait, this is the same Rowland Heights that is next to Nogales and Hacienda Heights right?
I used to live in Hacienda Heights, it nice place. I seem to remember there is a canyon road up there where all the steet racer goes to. I think it is call Turnbull Canyon?
