Need Opinion on Nitto's 555?

Need to get new thread for my stock 18" coupe and was wondering what people thought of the Nitto 555's? Are they worth the money or should I go with another brand that is not as pricey as the Michelin Pilot Sports.

Any help would be appreciated....

Great street tires if your looking for tire life, great price and decent performance. You wont get the most grip, but they will last forever (even w/ the car lowered and running 2 degrees of camber. My first set lasted me over 20000 miles (autocrossing and a track day included).

I had heard they sucked but many folks here like them...hopefully the 555s have changed as all things automotive do and for the better.

if you're a spirited driver, those tires are definitely not for you. they
break loose abruptly with very little warning.

if you're going for daily driving and dressup, they are decent tires...
i suppose. imho they're more like Toyo tires.

i stopped using Nitto a while ago. now i only use
S03's, GS-D3's, and Pilots (stock) on my weekend cars.

I have these tires (on the stock 18s also) and have around 20-25k on them with no problems whatsoever...Im only having to replace the rears right now too so the wear is excellent. I would def recommend these for a street tire esp. if you only do a little spirited driving every now an then. Even in wet weather I had absolutely no problems with grip except for now since i need to replace them.
