05 6MT tire replacement

OK so it's about time for me to retire the potenzas. I'm going to order some tires off tirerack, and I'd appreciate some suggestions. I'm happy with the performance of the stock tires, but I'm looking to replace them with something that has a higher tread rating and less road noise. I basically have a couple of questions...

1) What is the difference between the Michelin Pilot Sport and the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2? The PS2s are more expensive, but the tread is cooler looking on the original PS's.

2) Should I stick with 225/40YR19 in the front and 245/40YR19 in the rear? I have the original 19" wheels.

3) Is the alignment necessary after replacing the tires?

Any help would be appreciated

Went with the pilot sport 2s, couldn't be happier. They are quiet and responsive. I think i made the right choice...

You could put 245/35/19 on the front. It would be the same OD as the the 225/45s. It would also slightly reduce your understeer, and make the car more neutral handling. I like Dunlops. For the rears you could go up to 255/40/19. The new Sport Max doesn't come in the 255 size, but does come in the 245 size. Dunlop has a $50 rebate going on now.
