Finally Scraped my 5Zigens. What a nasty sound.

Anyways I'm going to have "Speedway Metal" fix them. They quoted me $25 (hard to beleive) to fix it with a polish lip with 1-2 day turnaround. Just in time for the CA meet.

I know krgresham was going to sent it there, but if you guys know a better place to send it, let me know. I only want places around the Los Angeles Area.

Also is my lip polished? I have the Chrome Zigens, and was wondering if the lip was chorme too or is it just polished.

After some investigation, I think Speedway Metal has been inhaling to much toxic fumes. No way they can fix it for $25.

Anyways after doing a search on our forum, I'm going to send it to Wheels America. They quoted me $225 to repair my wheel with a 7-10day business day turn around time. I guess I'll get it fixed after the meet.

You may want to rethink that entire process.

#1...5Zigens are racing chrome...not chrome. Email them and youll see a vast difference.
#2...in order o fix a chrome rim they need to be stripped, cleaned, repaired, cleaned, re-dipped. This is a longer process than 7-10 days. Not to mention, chrome, and racing chrome are different finishes. Racing chrome is a relatively new japanese finish that is lighter and more durable (so far so good), but there is a difference that you can see.

I know face of my rims is chrome, but what I'm confused about is the lip. Isn't most lips on rims Polished?

no...silver, gunmetal, etc etc all "may" have polished lips. But chrome/racing chrome is always ALL chrome. Itd be silly to have a less shiny lip.

The 19" is a darker chrome finish that may not be able to be matched; I have

DTC, thanks for doing some research for me. It's weird how we both spoke with 5Zigen and got different answers. The only thing I can think of right now is that the 19" is different than my 20's?
