for $275 per tire is really expensive, does anyone have a better altnertive instead of the michelins?

also whats the thinnest tires i can get for the factory 18's? can i go down to a 35? the michelin ones are 45's

Leave the ODs (front and back) the same. As well as the speedo, you'll through off the VDC. Keep the stagger near the way it is. It will look funny also. You may want to look at Bridgestone S03s. I just ordered a set of Dunlop SP9000s. They don't come in a 225/45 though. You could use a 245/40 in front and a 255/45 in back.

You can check out these Firestone's for about $177 ea. I know, you immediately think of SUV's rolling over when you see Firestone. lol! But, check out the rating on this one;

I just replaced my fronts and backs, i got 275/40 in the back and 245/40 in the front, they look great, if you goto discount tire co, i think they were yokahama, basicly the cheapest i could find with an AA rating for everything and they wear better than the pilot sports, and with the size increase they handel just as good as the pilot sports

You put those sizes on the stock 8" wide rims? Those sizes are ment for 8.5" for the 245/40s and 9.5" for the 275/40s. You should have severe tire buldge in back, and you could have the tires peal off in agressive handling situations. I have the same sizes (Dunlop SP9000s) on Nismo wheels in the correct widths. They don't handle as well as the Michelins, they out handle them by a wide margin. I'm surprised Discount Tire let you do this, the store I shop at wouldn't.
Anyway - Keep safe.

Now that I I've had my Dunlop SP9000s for almost a week now, I can't say enough good things about them. A great tire. And, the price is right.
