Brakes Squeaking

Hey have any of you had your breaks squeak like a pig yet? I only have 2000 miles on my G35 and they're already squeaking after about 20 minutes of driving everyday. I know they aren't worn out because i haven't been driving it hard at all. Any suggestions?

Re: Brakes Squeaking

Are your brakes the Brembo's? Mine are and I have complained about it several times. The dealer keeps telling me that it's not a defect and there is nothing they can do. I even called infiniti of america and they said the same thing. This will be my last infiniti.

Re: Brakes Squeaking

One thing I do have to admit is that it seems to have stopped almost completely as the miles pile on. Now I only hear it every once in a while. My issue is this, my friend at work has a Porsche 996 Turbo with Brembos also and he said performance brakes or not his never squeek and they are stock. I also asked another guy I know with a WRX STI which has stock brembos as well and he hasn't heard a thing from his. I dunno....

Re: Brakes Squeaking

I have a 2003 G35c with the Brembos. The brakes never sqeaked even after running the car hard several laps on open track day at a tight 1.3 mile road course.
But when I put new 19" Nismo rims on the car at about 5,100 miles, the brakes Squeak like crazy. I don't think changing wheels had anything to do with it, but it started up shortly after.
I have a buddy w/ 5,800 miles on his G35c w/ Brembos & his doesn't squeal. Go-Figure...

Re: Brakes Squeaking

My brakes started to squeak only when going in reverse and braking. Never squeaks when driving. I complained about this at 5000k miles and went to the dealer to get them fixed. Apparently on the invoice, they put "replaced back brake pads". The only problem is that when going in reverse, the squeak still occurs.

Re: Brakes Squeaking

My squeeking went away after a couple thousand miles. It still comes back every now and then when the conditions are right. When I heard a brand new lamborghini's brakes squeek, I said alright I'm not the only one. The dealer also told me that it was normal.
Oh and he also told me that if you drive the car like 5mph and hit the brakes hard and then do it again. He said not to do it more than twice. What he told me is that from normal driving the rotors wear too smoothly or something and that when you to that thing that i mentioned earlier, it scuffs up the rotors and pads a little.
I have to add that after the break in period I started driving the car harder and the sqeeks went away. I like to lay on the brakes hard every now and then when I'm zooming around just cause they are awesome to feel power of em.

Re: Brakes Squeaking

I think the problem is not as extreme as the other guy said as to this is the last Infiniti. Brake squeaking is normal no matter what kind of car you buy and how much it is. It is just normal. You are driving a G35 that can stop in as little distance as a Porsche. What else do you expect?? As far as I know, the brake pads is probably very hard and the sqeaking coems more often when cold. There shouldn't be a big problem with the brakes except that the pads is a bit harder so the sound comes once in a while. Other than that I am in love with the brakes. If there is another good Infiniti, I might buy one. Its not the end of the world when your brake squeaks.

Re: Brakes Squeaking

Yeah, my rear pads were replaced and rotors were turned under the TSB at 6,000 miles. No problem, no hassle. However, the squeaking didn't stop completely and the technician warned me that I'd hear squeaking from the new pads because their surface would take some time to conform to the rotor surface. I'm at 7,800 miles and still have a tiny bit of a squeak from the rear.
