TSB on rear brake pads

I got my car back yesterday from Infinity. I took it in 2 days ago about squeeling brakes at just 9000 miles. They said that they would take a look at the problem. When I picked up the car yesterday they said that they put on a new type of brake pad for my rear, but not my fronts. They said that there was a TSB on the rear pads. Yippie. New brakes and they don't squeal like little pigs. Again, they called it a TSB. I guess there is officially a TSB on the rear brake pads (at least at Midway Infinity in Arizona).

Yeah, this was in the TSB/service bulletin forum at the top of the page....
Service Bulletin Num : 03006 Date of Bulletin: JAN 29, 2003
Type: Coupe and Sedan
Component: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC
Summary: REAR BRAKE NOISE. *TT
IF YOU CONFIRM: An applied vehicle shows the following symptoms when braking: • a "squeak" or "squeal" noise coming from the rear brakes, • after the brakes have warmed up (to operating temperature), • mostly when braking during "stop and go" or mountain driving conditions.
ACTIONS: Remove and Replace the Rear Brake Pads with the ones from the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin.

yes, this was done on my car too. No questions asked. I just told them that my brakes squeaked and they replaced the rear pads for free.

No, he didn't miss it and neither did I. The coupe and the sedan have the same brakes. The 6MT does not. They are Brembos. From the wording of the TSB, I'd say it does not apply to the Brembos. Mine squeak, but it sounds like it's coming from the front. BTW, I really don't mind the squeak, because the brakes are so awesome. But what I don't like is that darn dust.

Re: TSB on rear brake pads

I got my rear brake pads replaced at 5100 miles. The squeak only comes when going in reverse. The invoice showed TSB to replace. Afterwards.....it still squeaks going in reverse. Have only 6500 miles on it.
